Their loss, I would be one of the best buyers that they could get. I'm thinking of asking if they want someone to work on weekends in Flashback, as I was once offered a full time job in there too, and they seem like much more organised people. It's just the sort of job that doesn't really pay the bills or for the decadent lifestyle that I require. Let's see.

Dischord sent me a wrong Bluetip LP, I emailed them, they sent me out the one I ordered and said I can keep the one they accidently sent me. Great label. They also packaged my LP which I received today, in a Black Eyes LP cover. So it's awesome, I now have a spare Black Eyes Cough LP cover I can put up on the wall. Fuck I love that Dischord.

Vinyls :
Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Night
The Stooges -
The Weirdness

gmku 06.08.2007 02:30 PM

Some vinyls, as they say:

The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (Mono, 180gm, Sundazed version)
The Trashmen - Surfin' Bird (Mono, 180gm, Beat Rocket/Sundazed)
Shellac - At Action Park
Lightning Bolt - Wonderful Rainbow
The Electric Prunes - s/t (or I had too much to dream last night) (180 gm)
The Byrds - Younger than Yesterday (orig. press, mono)

I think there's gonna be a record party at my house. Come on over and let's dance around the record player in our bobby sox, kiddies.

Monks - Demos 1965 lp

In 3 days and 10 hours my ebay auction of a copy of vista ultimate will finish and hopefully whoever wins it will promptly pay a fairly large sum of money straight into my paypal account and I will buy a long list of records with said funds.

How do you like the new Shellac? I noticed the local store has like 10 copies on vinyl. They most they usually stock on anything is 2 or 3.

I'm just getting into Shellac with At Action Park.

pokkeherrie 06.08.2007 08:20 PM

I dig it, but it's no match for At Action Park. The reason for your local store having 10 copies is probably because they expect more people to but the vinyl instead of the CD than usual. It's a public secret that the LP comes with a free CD version of the album. A CD without a sleeve or label, but still. The same goes for the 1000 Hurts vinyl. BTW, I take back what I said a few days ago about maybe liking the new album more than 1000 Hurts after I put the latter on again yesterday.

max 06.08.2007 08:33 PM

just bought SMALL WHITE's PRODUCT PLACEMENT. astounding price too.

gmku 06.08.2007 08:34 PM

So At Action is the best thing Shellac has done? What's second best--1,000 hurts? Sorry, I was completely ignorant of Shellac until yesterday.

pokkeherrie 06.08.2007 08:52 PM

i'd rank at action park 1st and 1000 hurts 2nd, yes.

but there's a thread about the new shellac album elsewhere on this board where i think each album has been mentioned as a favourite by someone. the first few 7-inch singles are great too.

Unholy Grave - Bad Luck? / Third Degree - The Loneliness Kills! split 7"

japanese/polish grindcore showdown, my turntable crapped out again so i can't listen to it yet.

my favorite shellac album is terraform followed really closely or tied if you will with the futurist.

Faust IV on vinyl for cheap?

pokkeherrie 06.09.2007 10:20 AM

Ah, no that Faust one was on CD... 5 euros. Surely would be more expensive on vinyl.
