for that alone she deserves props. I saw them play and they were pretty boring, but it was way past sell by date. nonetheless, Debby Harry put on an incredible Blondie in all but name set the same night, including "Cautious Lip", which I still can't believe she did live.

davenotdead 12.13.2009 03:01 AM

ok i've given in to GaGa.

Funny. I wouldn't say it's my favorite LP ever but I like it a lot. I got my copy for free from a friend who had it in her garage sale. I couldn't believe she was selling it. She was so impressed by how much I was taken aback, so she just let me have it.

One of those albums where every time I put it on, after not listening to it for a while, I'm really taken aback by just how fucking amazing it is. Mellow My Mind! Beyond fantastic.

merzbeat

I wonder if he's ever been into Big Beat, and all that stuff the Skint record label used to put out. I doubt it, it's just that some of the tracks remind me very vaguely of Midfield General and Freq Nasty, at times.

I've no interest in another boring debate over whether this is a classic or boring NME shit, but I for one would just like to say that, for me A) It's a really fun, light, punchy little rock record, B) The nostalgia around tracks like Last Nite being everywhere when I was like 12 makes it impossible for me to fully judge it objectively, C) The bass on the title track is really nice and D) Take It Or Leave It is just a really killer pop song. That is all.

looking glass spectacle 12.13.2009 05:28 PM

^^^

a) seconded
b) wow, yr a young'un... yr nostalgia for post-millenial music has blown my mind.
