Hello again Chicago SY fans! I just wanted to let y'all know that my band, The Sam Saunders Machine, will once again be gracing Elbo Room's stage tonight. Other acts appearing include NYCO, The Attraction and Jay Johnson. Once again we're playing third, so we'll be going on around 11. Last month's show was an absolute blast and this is another pretty hot line up! We'll be recording our set, so come on out and have a drink or two or three! :)

Finally I'm in a band! Actually, I've been playing with the singer/guitarist and current bassist for 4 months now, the drummer just joined at the beginning of December...www.myspace.com/it is where you can find our music, and learn when/where our next show will be. IT began not really as a band per se, more like a musical art project by our singer, so I guess you'd call our music art rock.

And no, we have no plans to change our name.

I'm in a band that mix punk, "grunge" (I hate that term) and alternative music called TV Party (yes, it is a Black Flag reference :) )

i have a solo thing that i do. i prefer playing on my own or collaboration with other people but i dont really want to be in a band anymore. band politics suck.

You have to be with exactly the right combination of personalities or it's a recipe for disaster, true.

Same.I prefer doing everything myself(just like early Prince) because the only two times i have played in a band i wanted to kill them and kill myself as a consequence.Collaborating is great and it is always stimulating when you do it with the right musician but i can't really see myself stuck into a van with people i barely know or putting up with massive egos or,worst still,junkies.

hey everyone - first off i know that i'm not really a known posting member of this community but i do check the board out often, i'm just not really a message board kind of person. anyway, lest you think this is spam, this is a cover of "Revolution 9" i did a week or so ago and i figured SY fans would probably be a group that would enjoy this:

it's composed all of tape loops/samples from the original "Rev 9" going through my effects and then all mixed together. No pro-tools, garage band, etc. I hope you all enjoy and let me know what you think, any and all feedback is appreciated.
