I keep meaning to watch through Lost again. I haven't cracked the season 6 dvd I got for Christmas back when it came out. Some of my friends didn't really dig the finale. I liked it, but would like to see it again with the whole show fresh, see if it still holds up.

Been watching through Babylon 5 again. Incredible show. Sure the production could be visibly hokey at times, but that could easily be forgiven when you got immersed in the very dynamic plot lines and colorful characters. And it has one of the best and most tragic villains in almost well anything in Londo. Outshines Star Trek in every way. Kirk or Picard, and believe me, I love Picard, but give me Captain John Sheridan any day.

Lost is great, but it never really recaptured the darkness and intensity of seasons 1,2, and 3. The last few seasons are just philosophical sci-fi, and they tend to go overboard. Season 2 is the real kicker, and the season 1 finale still leaves me trembling every time I watch it. The last 3 seasons are great, and granted I've only watched them once each, while I've seen the first 3 over and over, but something seemed to be missing after S3.

I was ok with the finale, though it totally overstepped the supernatural boundary lines. Open ended, open-to-interpretation, heaven sequence type stuff. It was exciting and all, and I cried my eyes out at the end (the last moment is perfect) but I preferred the first few seasons, when i was scared shitless of the Others and had no idea who or what they were.

Hey ever heard the phrase "spoiler alert"?!??! I'm only at the end of season 3!!!

E. Noisefield 01.15.2012 06:58 PM

Speaking of both, I think some of the Lost writers or storyboarders must have worked on Breaking Bad. The shows have a really similar feel, and both rely overtly on symbolism and existentialism. The Fly episode of Breaking Bad really reminded me of something from Lost, as do the flashback sequences.

Count Mecha 01.15.2012 07:12 PM

My favorite thing about season 4 of Lost really is how it makes me think of season 1 in a different light. Almost every argument (except maybe water) they had amongst eachother about how to survive was actually extremely pointless. The first 3 season finales are flawless that much is obvious. 4's was underwhelming, but 5's might be my favorite actually.

But yeah, I think that might be what hurt the show if anything. It wasn't really a mystery show anymore after season 3, but it wasn't really in answer mode either. Still tons of fun.

Count Mecha 01.15.2012 07:14 PM

I think about X-Files more than anything when it comes to Breaking Bad since Vince Gilligan was pretty invested in both shows.

it's rare for me to watch something that genuinely makes me laugh out loud numerous times. This show does it for me... and season 3 starts febuary 2nd!

PAUL RUDD IS DEAD!
HE HAD A SERIES OF BROADWAY CREDITS

E. Noisefield 01.24.2012 07:22 PM

Breaking Bad left me a little cold. It didn't quite wrap up and it wasn't quite a cliffhanger. :( It was kinda disappointing.

Now I'm watching Lost again. The person I'm watching it with is highly critical, so he's pointing out a lot of flaws that I haven't seen before, but even so it's great!

I really wish Lost had been released five years later, when sex, drugs, and swearing were allowed on TV. It could stand to be a little more pg-13. ;)

Seems tame after Breaking Bad.

EVOLghost 01.31.2012 10:09 AM

Tonight, I'll be watching late Night with David Letterman. A very special musical guest will be on tonight....

Murmer99 02.23.2012 12:56 AM

why did I never see that post before?... paul rudd! personally, I was a bit disappointed in the show after season one... despite the majority thinking the complete opposite. I'll try rewatching most of those episodes when I can.

Genocyber OST

a friend kept recommending this to me since he's obsessed with anything anime related... it's decent.

Xavier Renegade Angel

brilliant!

EVOLghost 02.23.2012 01:38 AM

Nice on the Xavier, that episode(well...all of 'em) is weird as fug.

All we have is laptops and Netflix.

Ha ha. I used to watch it religiously up until about 2 years ago. Then I discovered my ex-mother in law also watched it religiously, and I swore off it after that.

I can gather all the news I need on the weather report... on the Weather Channel Web site.

gmku 03.05.2012 08:01 PM

I've been getting by. Somehow.

Kina 03.10.2012 06:26 AM

I'm watching An Idiot Abroad, the Route 66 episode, pretty funny actually, anyone else seen this one?

Murmer99 03.10.2012 07:13 AM

I've seen that a few times. The last episode I saw was when Karl is forced to change into pajamas and go inside this little tent where a group of strangers are hugging and cuddling with each other. It's not my favorite show..

I've mainly been watching through the wormhole lately when I turn my tv on.

Keeping It Simple 03.10.2012 10:35 AM

I bought season one of Game of Thrones on Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed watching every episode. The thing that amused me the most about it was some of the casting choices. Did you have to be an English, public schoolboy/schoolgirl toff to be eligible for some of the roles?

nicfit 03.18.2012 03:03 PM

watched Black Mirror.
Ep1: intriguing idea, bit over the top execution, not that well acted/directed imo.
Ep2: nothing too special, some good ideas, not well developed characters, decent "turn of the events" towards the end.
Ep3: Fucking amazing. GREAT photography, GREAT acting, nice direction. Much better than the two first episodes combined.

Red Riding Trilogy:

Overall interesting and well put together, some "confused" bits and some scenes I never liked in movies overall (how many times irl complete strangers end up fucking in a bed after a discussion about dead people?). Liked the second episode the most because Paddy is amazing. The plot gets kinda knotted up and the 3 episodes need to be watched quite close one to the other to keep track of the things happening. Conveys the "right" feelings of bleak hopelessness (?) and filth and dirt etc. In a way.

Shameless on show time and walking dead....

dirty bunny 03.19.2012 03:32 PM

I've been watching some Wilfred (both the US and Australian version), as well as Louie. Interesting shows, different from the usual fare. I like the US version of Wilfred a bit better, maybe it's because it has the Hobbit guy in the lead role, and he's cute to look at. The Aussie version is a bit darker (both in lighting and tone).
As for Louie, it can be almost like watching a train wreck, more drama than comedy really.

Watched thsis with my nephews. It's pretty fucking funny...

Up to season 6 now. God I love it. A couple of things-I do naughty things to Pam and Dwight must be one of the best comedy characters created.

Has anyone seen the show Boss with Kelsey Grammer?

Ghostchase 08.15.2012 01:28 PM

lol Sgt. Frog looks funny! I should watch that finally

On to the second season of The Flight of The Conchords (My third viewing of this series)

The X-Files. I watched one of the best and funniest episodes of the series maybe, "Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space'". So good. Alex Trebek and Jesse Venture as the Men In Black. Brilliant.

Need get back to watching Arrested Development, since I decided to renew my Netflix. Might rewatch the second season of Dead Like Me.

What the flip. I have to wait till January for the new Game of Thrones.

EVOLghost 08.15.2012 02:48 PM

Yeah Sgt frog is pretty funny. I watched two episodes yesterday(without the nephews) and fucking show had me giggling pretty hard. Really goofy. Its on Netflix too.
