the ikara cult 03.30.2010 07:40 PM

Toilet & Bowels 03.30.2010 07:41 PM

i don't think teenage panzerkorps have any ebay value do they? not that i'd ever sell any of the stuff i have from them.

the ikara cult 03.30.2010 07:45 PM

nope.
When i spoke to the bloke in the shop he didnt have much to say about them either.

the ikara cult 03.30.2010 07:46 PM

its all part of the charm

Genteel Death 03.30.2010 07:50 PM

Probably only their first 7'' and the CDR, but I doubt they'd sell for more than 20, maybe 30, pounds. Not that I'd sell mine either.

I've also seen Drunkdriver's ''Born Pregnant'' LP in All Ages Records not too long ago. I haven't checked the price, though.

the ikara cult 03.30.2010 08:00 PM

in that case im in the money
who did they release their first CDR on?

Toilet & Bowels 03.30.2010 08:02 PM

either self released or pink skulls, or something. i think they may have done 2 CD-Rs, one of which is the same as their first 7", the other is called Nations are Insane.

Genteel Death 03.30.2010 08:04 PM

Pink skulls

it was the Brother JT & Vibrolux 7" which I've already got, thanks though. they did a couple of other 7"s that I will pick up later.

The Love Is So Fast lp in Berwick Street's ME for 12 quid.

There are a couple of small record shops inside Wood Street Market in Walthamstow which I doubt are well known because they don't have much presence on the internet or their own website. I visited them a couple of times and they are a huge mess with a lot of crap to wade through but rewarding if you are into heavy rock or jazz. Loads of cheap records but don't expect to find obscure music in there.

I was recently in one of those charity shops on Barking Road in Canning Town and was shocked to find the insert of an Animals & Men (the UK DIY band) LP in the middle of a bunch of classical music and Perry Como LPs. No trace of the actual record though. Fucking hell, that would have been quite the score!

Toilet & Bowels 08.24.2017 01:35 AM

I came across a Daisy Chainsaw DVD-R in a charity shop the other day. It provided a pleasing blast from the past, and a skin crawling interview of Katie Jane Garside by Paul Morley in which he was trying to seduce her in a really sleazy and arrogant fashion and resulted in her walking out.

Genteel Death 08.28.2017 01:48 AM

Considering he's been writing boringly about the same music for 200 years it must have been a huge diversion for Paul Morley to interview a band like Daisy Chainsaw.

Two record shops I like in Hackney, located next to each other, are Crypt of the Wizard and Cosmos Records. Cosmos is particularly good for hip hop and soul. I recently saw a new copy of V-3's Live at Bernie's there, which I would have bought if I didn't own it already. Compared to the prices you'd pay for it on the internet including p&p it was a decent price too.

Another good one is Tome Records at DIY Space for London.
