the last 5 LPs are VERY embarrassing.

i think 'the black album', 'load', and 'reload' are absolutley fucking pitiful. just such blatant and misguided attempts to enter the alternative rock market, which unfortunately, the pulled off with flying colors. but yes, theyre are some good records on all those records. however, 'garage, inc.' to me is an incredible listen, i mean, half the songs on there are light years better than the originals. 'turn the page', i never even liked the fucking song, but metallica's version just rules. also, 's and m' is rather rad, heavy metal with a symphony, novel idea anyways. st anger is bullshit obviously. lets hope for the best with the new one.

I enjoy their post "sellout" stuff. More full and "warm".

I liked St. Anger though it was boring. Some of the weirdest guitar tones, production, song structures, and lyrics ever heard in a mainstream band. It's not actually GOOD but it has good stuff. Same for all their albums.

Garage Inc, front to back, both discs, is fucking sweet.

I really REALLY don't like Metallica. I can somewhat see how someone can find worth in their first four albums, but anything after that is awful. I heard the new single just yesterday and it's truly atrocious. The first few minutes are just boring Load/Reload retreads and then the last few are chockfull of cheesy riffs and solos trying desperately to re-create One or Fade to Black or some shit. It's such a huge joke. This band really needs to end already.
