Maybe it'll grow on me...but for now it's very *meh* (and this is coming from someone who didn't think Make Believe was as bad as everyone made it out to be.) |
Some may beg to differ, but this one is definitely one of my favorites. |

it's ok, nothing mindblowing. |
Trying to re-assess this album. One of my friends told me it was genius if you listened to it properly but I can't really get past it. I know 'I Think I'm In Love' and 'No Complaints' are really good pop songs and '1000BPM' makes me want to dance all over the place, but I still feel like something is missing. Is it the lack of real artwork? It just makes it feel like a CD Beck burned for me instead of a real record. |

Those were a classic 4 albums. I think his problem is that he's been trying to reinvent himself and distance himself from those days too much- he doesn't want to be labelled a one-trick pony, but I don't think he knows what else to do really. I really loved Mutations and I thought Midnite Vultures was funky and hilarious. Unfortunately he went all James Blunt with Sea Change. Guero and The Information have great songs but I don't feel his personality coming through as much as it did in his early days. It's all a little too generic. I'm still buying Modern Guilt because the title track sounds good. |
you made me realise
blasting it |
