I have a couple of friends who did nothing but beg for $15 from people on Facebook for this asshat for the entire month of August. He's the used car salesman of politics and he's a fraud. It's astonishing how many 18-35 year-olds will vote politically support anything that aligns itself with legal weed.

Anyway, I'm purposefully avoiding politics today and tomorrow. And although I'm door knocking this weekend, I'm bracing myself for a Trump presidency. I've decided it'll suck, but that maybe music will get good and angry. Also congress will take a beating in the midterms and in four years a dem victory is almost assured. So the shit is shiny at least.

Well, yes, motherfucker does have a "path to victory"; in fact, lemme check, 315 paths right now. But that doesn't mean he has 315 plausible paths to victory. The problem with the 538 article linked above is that it would take the ULTIMATE, mathematically PERFECT (read: WORST) fucking guanostorm for him to get to 270. That is IF, and I'm saying this again, people actually vote, haven't consistently and massively lied to pollsters, etc.

I think it's always important to maintain a level of respect in social and political discourse, partly because people with strong beliefs who feel laughed at or rejected by their peers can be dangerous, but also because I think being a dick is extremely unattractive, and not a look I want to wear. But I honestly don't feel that there was any actual bad blood during the SFAD chat. I've had harsher (if much, much less clever) insults hucked at me by pepper_green in this thread.

He'd sworn an oath to turn over any relevant new evidence he found, and if he had not done so he would have been under fire for that later on."

To my surprise, even the Dems in the room seemed to swallow this up.

Ok, yeah, maybe.. But the key words are "relevant" and "evidence." What he did was stir the pot for no worthwhile reason whatsoever, and he abused his position to nudge public opinion. He should be fired. Looking at this whole it's stil fresh, it's such a transparently political move that that piece of it hardly warrants discussion. But the damage has been done, and it will be looked at later, if at all, when the entire thing is several months or years removed from wherever we are at the time.
