Recorded during our first gig. It's still a bit on the rough side, sound-wise.

New jam, I tried to do something gospelish. I think I failed but I think it still sounds good.
Give it a listen! https://gamblegambledie.bandcamp.com/track/saw-chains |
From our latest gig. A less rock-y, more cinematic and serene version of our standard song. And I love the fact that we found someone with a violin to perform with us.

Hey guys here's my friend's band Frontwards. He named it after the Malkmus song. We're really heavy math rock or something (Allan teaches automotive math at a local college). I play hardcore tambourine but I'm too fucking tired I don't care anymore. It was just stage performance!

Maybe I should have titled this one "Shhh, Bees/Skull" instead:

yes and we suck. we might record some shit sooner or later. Except some real shitty post-harcore/noise rock/twee pop/emo shit

Playing the 28 hour Drone Not Drones event tonight in Minneapolis (Lee Ranaldo caps off the whole affair, nice!)
These are the instruments we will bring: |
hey Savage, how was the dronefest? I only now see that it was streamed live on the drone not drone site. Do you know if the audio was recorded and if it will end up on bandcamp again?
holy $^## !!! Anonymous Choir was also in the lineup this time? Wow, what an epic lineup: Anonymous Choir > Gaelynn Lea > Murder Of Crows > Alan Sparhawk |
It was really fun. These things always get nicely recorded and posted on bandcamp, but it takes a while. I'll post it here when it gets put up. I had a better time this year than last year; last year I played in Comets Ov Cupid at the very end of the drone and we had to set up 600 lbs of gear during Sparhawk's extremely minimal and quiet set. I have never felt so self-conscious, but I think Al thought it was hilarious (which it was).
This time I arranged it so we could set up all the Thunderbolt gear before it started, and then I could just switch to fan/listener after we played and loaded out. Not as many people there when you play second, but I enjoyed myself more. I went back several times during the thing and it was always worthwhile. Circuit Des Yeux was not at all to my tastes, but her set polarized opinion. Some people really loved it and were effusive in their praise. Lee was the perfect capper for it. He really brought a considered (and fun to watch) sculptural sound performance that was much more than just a series of extended technique demos. Loved it. |
Looks like our band has some sounds on this public radio review piece. Also the inimitable Paul Metzger is pictured!

Finally got a decent version of this thing I've been trying to get down for a while:

Medley_ Gymnopedie no.1 (Erik Satie) > Rumble (Link Wray) [demo]
https://soundcloud.com/billy-gashade...die-no-1-satie You can kind of tell I just learned the Satie piece and am hesitant and faltering in it's execution, but maybe that works in it's favor in this case? |
for those in the columbus area, i (sea tone) play several times a year here.
