I fucking love Animal Collective. Straight up. I don't care if that's cliche. Or lame. Or so hip that it's played out. Or whatever. I love them.

Actually, no, but interesting you should ask: I didn't pick this one up back in its day, though I certain knew it was around and really liked it. At the same time, I was afraid it was too "pop" for my delicate sensibilities. I didn't pick up the Cars debut until about 10 years after its release. However, I did buy it used and I think it's a "vintage" early issue judging from the similarity of the label design to what Elektra was using back then.

I'm surprised nobody here has commented on my Costello listenings. No fans of those early records? I think they're fantastic. He was so angry. I still remember SNL that night when he stopped the band a few seconds into the song they were "supposed" to play and instead did a completely unrehearsed "Radio" from their unreleased LP.

P Children. Documentation 1987-1992.
I thought it was Poster Children when I bought it.
In fact, it's something like SPK and Current 93, but it's cool anyway.

how many notes does it have?

gualbert 08.21.2009 11:04 AM

Many.
Several.
A lot.
I didn't count, frankly.

noisereductions 08.21.2009 11:05 AM

@gaulbert

I figured that's what you did. Counted to make sure it was music. Make sure it was okay to like it. No?

gualbert 08.21.2009 11:09 AM

Oh no!
I count only when there's one or two notes (then I can't help counting).
(otherwise I don't)

noisereductions 08.21.2009 11:11 AM

how could you tell if there were only 1 or 2 and not more, if you weren't counting to begin with?

sonic sphere 08.21.2009 11:22 AM

gualbert 08.21.2009 11:27 AM

Alright, I notice that there is one or two notes in a track.

Never heard of it.
But the album name is written backwards: so cooool!
And the Parental Advisory label guarantees that your parents will dislike it (maybe the kids won't like it, but at least, it will piss off their parents!!)

For the rest, I'll rely on your inuit friend (I guess he's an expert?!)

so yr guess is that people who listen to rap music don't actually enjoy it themselves, but rather only play it to annoy their parents?
