Didn't know anything about 'em, so I listened to one of their tunes on Bandcamp. Sold! :) Many thanks. |
You might like the wand set, they close with Cinnamon Grl

I take it this is Wand as in Drag City, not as in James Jackson Toth's Wooden Wand (who also put out a record as Wand), correct? In any event, I have indeed downloaded it. :D |
Not the wooden one, no, regretfully

Oh, I KNEW I knew them (heh) from somewhere — they were in charge of performing Fugazi songs at 2011's Our Concert Could Be Your Life: https://www.npr.org/2011/05/24/13650...e-to-80s-icons They played "Long Division" and "Guilford Fall". |

I has a request for these and can't find them, anyone can help? |

I'm afraid I can't... and now I want 'em myself! |

i upped them to a bunch of folks, so I've got my hopes up:confused: |

While I haven't finished organizing my archives yet (I don't suppose you guys have a bunch of spare external hard drives you can send me, do ya? Like, 4TB each at least? Yeah, didn't think so...), I would have certainly found something uploaded in 2015. Obvious conclusion: I was dumb enough not to download it back then. :( |
Quote:
Was the Shannon Wright set a separate file or did she play with Shellac? I got you for the Shellac set anyway. Fileset has been renamed & tagged etc since it was first uploaded but audio is untouched. shellac2015-07-10.flac16 https://www115.zippyshare.com/v/8s7Qz5Rl/file.html |

I'm only at around 2TB but that's mainly because I don't have much video, the collection is near 2k recordings as a whole and I've been "organizing" it for the best part of two years. Renaming/retagging every random fileset you get off DAD takes a hell of a long time! |
Quote:
Thanks! Downloading it with Google Chrome is a no-no, though — it forces you to install an extension or get nothing. With Firefox it seems to be downloading OK. In both cases, however, my ESET antivirus software had to block shit. |
I just automatically have Adblock Plus on all browsers, I'm on chrome and turned it off to see what it's like and holy crap it's bad! With ABP installed I just get the button for the actual download.
|
I should move to uploading to dbr.ee, same file size limit as Zippyshare but there's literally nothing else on the page other than a download link.
|
Quote:
Well that's odd — I have ABP installed and "on" here as well... |

You don't say? I'm gonna try that site. I use Mega.nz (50GB free, no file size limit) if I need something to stay up for a while; WeTransfer.com for stuff that can be gone in a week. |
Yeah I use Mega for long term storage for the blog but it's getting full right now, zippyshare/dbr.ee is the easiest way for files that I just need to send to someone.

thanks, G! yeah the Shannon was a separate file set, but the request I got was just for the Shella, so thanks a ton!! ild |
Thanks for the Gellac, Shambra! ;-)
Below my first upload in a while - and what a heavy one it is. Sleep, 2018-01-25, ACL, Moody Theater, Austin, 574 MB: * https://we.tl/t-IDsK1m3ZyQ |
Tested dbr.ee:
* Minimal interface like WeTransfer, but no time indication on progress bar - only the percentage. * No indication as to how long they keep files around. * No indication as to how much space they give you. * Uploading x separate files does not result in a download link to a single zip file (like WeTransfer), but instead gives you x download links. * The 500 MB file limit I can live with, since 99% of my uploads are FLAC filesets anyway. Anyway ... here goes. XTC, 1980-01-22, Ann Arbor: * https://dbr.ee/wDJW Feedback on ease of use, download speed, etc. would be appreciated. |
Follow-up: a friend tested dbr.ee and said he got some annoying popups and a malware warning. Back to WeTransfer we go!

this is a cross-post, so shoot me
In 2011 I saw Sebadoh for the very first time in Doornroosje (which translates to Sleeping Beauty in English) in Nijmegen Netherlands, one of my favourite venues which sadly no longer exists, at least not in the same building. And apparently it's also a fave for these guys. This was for "the bakesale/harmacy remembering time tour". Until then I was just a casual fan, and there were too many songs I didn't like (the too lo-fi first albums especially) to get to really like the songs that I did like. And I would often skip many of Jason's songs because I preferred Lou's. I thought that Sebadoh was just a hobby project for Lou while he was away from Dinosaur Jr. Boy oh boy how wrong I was. After this night my viewpoint changed 560 degrees. Wow so many great songs, every song they played was brilliant even Jason's. I taped that night as usual, but accidentally directly to mp3. So it never ended up on Dime, and that's a true shame because it was a blast from start to finish. And apparently I also never posted about it here, at least I don't find any reference on it on this board. But it is shared on freesofree.net at http://www.freesofree.net/albumdetail.php?AlbumID=528 And here's also a WeTransfer link, because that site's UI is a bit crappy and outdated So go get it, you won't regret. For an unmastered untouched recording it sounds very good. I'm listening to it right now for the first time in like 5 years. I saw them a couple more times since then, the tapes of that have been shared on Dime. But it never was as awesomely awesome as this night. |
