The part where she correctly answered who the original actor to play Leatherface was. I wanted to pull her off the screen and rape her.

Animal Kingdom-Australian crime flick. Very underrated given that Jacki Weaver was nominated for Best Supporting actress.

Miami Blues- Big Willeford fan but never saw this. Alec Baldwin was awesome and the humor was pitch black.

The best movies I've watched in a long time.

On a down note:

An Education-OK, so you almost flunked out of school because you were convinced this supposed rich charming guy would take care of you? Fuck you but only because I was supposed to feel sorry for you.

Scream 4- I did like it. I was worried it was going to be too funny but I was pleased that it never got in the way of the killing, and there were some genuinely good lines.

The scene in Naked where Johnny talks about the end of the world to the night watchman is one of my all-time favourites.

lulz

Sucks that Scream 4 didn't do so hot at the box office. My Scream-obsessed friend is convinced that they're going to start a whole new trilogy... I have my doubts. haha

But, I wish it would've been a huge hit. Maybe then the studios would finally give us sequels again instead of just remakes. Oh god, do I miss 'the sequel'... :(

Fuck you Michael Bay. Eat a turd.

noisereductions 04.19.2011 11:08 AM

yeah sequels rule. I have head the same thing about a trilogy. Craven/Williamson had said that their intention was to do a 2nd trilogy.

Britney: For the Record (7/10)

Watching this was like watching someone contribute to their own obituary. The documentary tells us nothing most of us don't already know about the bitter side of celebrity but in terms of it's impact on one person, it's really quite a gutting film to sit through. There's something really sad about someone seemingly programmed only to be happy being so deeply unhappy.

I don't know about them doing another two films after this. At the end of the first and second films they would show a quick flash of Ghostface at the end to tease another film. If they made "Scream 4" with a pre-set notion of making a fifth, why no Ghostface flash? I think "Scream 5" depends on the success of 4, and so far I've heard its been luke-warm.

noisereductions 04.19.2011 03:14 PM

yeah I don't know why Luke-Warm... shit's brilliant.

floatingslowly 04.19.2011 04:20 PM

Intense and very powerful movie. Honestly, one of the best i've ever seen (and I don't tend to use this phrase too often).

^ Yeah, I wanna see this now too.

You know what? I hadn't seen it since I originally saw it in theaters, and without all the hype behind it... Spiderman 3 is actually pretty good!

Okay, it's lame when Peter Parker goes emo. Always was, and always will be. BUT it's an understandable visual representation of Peter Parker's change as a person with the symbiote suit.

Raimi did a really good job tying up the stories for the first 2 flicks with the Green Goblin and the Sandman, as well as supplying the public/studios with the Venom sub-plot which was pretty much demanded at that point. That's a lot to juggle, especially with a blockbuster of this magnitude, and Raimi did very well, only dropping a ball or two.

I like how many villains are in this one. It feels a lot like the comics/FOX kids cartoon that was on in the 90s, in that sense. Also, they made Spidey much more of a wisecracker in this one. I liked that, it was more true to his real character.

Oh, and Ted Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and the guy who plays Mr. Jameson were absolutely brilliant in their roles once again.

Hell yeah - Spiderman trilogy.

noisereductions 04.20.2011 07:21 AM

I only watched the first. Which I liked a lot. Skipped the 2nd for no good reason. Maybe tired of Superhero movies? The 3rd LOOKED really good to me (Venom!) but I figured I hadn't seen the 2nd so...

Dr. Eugene Felikson 04.20.2011 07:25 AM

The 2nd one is the best of the bunch, I think. I'd highly recommend you watch the whole trilogy from start to finish though, if you're able to.

I'm planning on watching Intruder as soon as my gf and I get our Netflix acct up and running again today. The Church too. I fucked up the billing, and froze up the account haha.

Oh, and did you see there's actually a Dylan Dog movie coming out really soon? It looks pretty shitty - but what are the odds of that, given the discussion we had just a few weeks ago?
