i'm guessing it's a soundboard recording since the vocals are very upfront, you can hear everything but it's not that crystal clear and sometimes the vocals dominate the mix. but the performances are pretty good.

i'll upload it in a second.

jon boy 08.07.2006 03:00 AM

Unfinished Music #2 Life with the Lions (Apple, 1969)

"I make sounds to look at. This I know from Yoko. I live in her
shadow." - Thurston Moore

Melody Maker (6/28/97, p.58) - "[This] is, assuming you're
relatively strong of stomach, fantastic...for all its improvised
imprecision, it actually sounds subtle, structured
even....tremendously listenable." - Thurston Moore

Spin (9/97, p.157) - "...Lennon's feedback textures sound
startlingly contemporary--the way he plays against Ono's mantric
form-warbles, sinking into free-jazz gush, could be mistaken for
something newly struck by Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore..."

1. Cambridge 1969 (26:33)
2. No Bed For Beatle John (4:42)

Thanks alot for this!

And please Jimi ASAP!

and a message for anyone with ANYTHING Jimi, UPLOAD IT!

I've got Pink Floyd's Dolls House Darkness which is some radio broadcasts from 67 and then live October 11, 1969 (I may have upped this before)

That's all I have, other than Jimi and some selected SY boots.

I may make a list, but most of the SY stuff I've gotten from here.

atari 2600 08.13.2006 03:39 PM

oh lordy...that's a lot of work in front of me with all of those early Pink Floyd...

I downloaded that Doll's House Darkness too, but haven't listened yet.
The Dark Globe Syd Barrett compilation (that was torrented a week or so before that one was) is fantastic.

Cool, finding nobody...I'd like to get that complete Orlando show...although it may all be on one of the Living in a Word cd-rs. I just tried to dig that out & only saw it a couple of days ago, but couldn't find it very easily.
I cannot remember who shared the Animal Collective Living in a Word vols. 1-3 live compilations at the old board, but I believe it's got some stuff from that.

TheDom 08.13.2006 07:57 PM

I love that Living In A Word comp.

Props to whoever uploaded it, I forget too.

and it doesn't include the Orlando show.

I just found 3 more live sets from them. What's the date from the Orlando show?

finding nobody 08.13.2006 11:50 PM

Animal Collective - Live At Lee's Palace

no idea what the set list is.

atari 2600 08.21.2006 04:58 PM

from googling around, I wonder if it is the 11/11/04 show in Toronto at Lee's Palace or the 2/23/06 show from this year.

TheDom 08.21.2006 05:24 PM

I'm pretty sure it is the '04 show.

More AC shows on the way.

yes, these are actually very interesting indeed. the unfinished music series is greatly underrated, very homemade stuff
