In the Fallon version of Sandwitches about 1:30 does Tyler mention Sonic Youth I can't really work it out?

I thought he mentioned sonic youth too when i first heard it. Odd.

I don't know I read he was a pretty big fan of stereolab. They are not that far removed from Sonic Youth.

Stereolab is all about synths, though. Tyler's a big Pharrell fan. Neptunes. Synths.

it's certainly no stretch of the imagination that Tyler's first thought about production is the synths. Listen to any successfully executed track that he's produced and what do they have in common? Unreal synth (or piano) track. Even the flourishes. Think of the title track on EARL. That weird glitchy bit that comes in mid-first verse? Think the title track to BASTARD. Think the keys on "Epar." He's all about synths/keyboards.

i don't know about the whole sonic youth thing, but tyler's said he likes joy division, he rapped over a liars beat on radical, is into toro y moi, nite jewel, and some other "chillwave" (ridiculous term, i know, but at least it's something to describe that sound), is big on stereolab as mentioned, and did that lykke li remix, so safe to say he's up on some indie shit
