I hope Lee and Kim share vocals on a song!

I have to say this new twittering that they are doing is so great! It's the first and only time I ever thought Twitter was useful. This afternoon's update also included a picture of their equipment.

Pavement Bassist To Appear On Sonic Youth Album

Former Pavement member Mark Ibold has been hanging out in the studio with Sonic Youth while they work on their as-yet-untitled sixteenth album and will appear on the album.

Ibold will appear on a song that is tentatively titled ‘That’s What We Know’.
The album is currently being mixed in New York with producer John Agnello, who guided them through their amazing last album ‘Rather Ripped’.
In other Pavement news, word has been circulating between Ibold and former Pavement front man Stephen Malkmus about a Pavement reunion.
Don’t hold your breath, but words have been said to the effect of “it could happen”. It’s ten years since they broke up, and at the time nobody really cared, but in the past ten years a hell of a lot of fans have grown up and heard them for the first time.
Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and keep breathing as per normal, hey?

karenology is one of the best songs SY ever recorded. and the ones from nurse and RR are definately highlights of the albums, at least for me

barnaclelapse 01.22.2009 01:30 PM

I love Karenology.

Nothing like a new construction kerfuffle to keep me focused on mixing.

More Than One Lee Song = Money.

deflinus 01.22.2009 04:54 PM

i like how Lee and Thurston contradict each other in terms of songs. which is ironic because they're in the same band.

i KNOW Lee can give us a more ROCKING song than Thurston. he needs to quit the spoken word business for awhile and bring us back another Genetic

And now we send our little friend through the tubes that we call the internets to it's destination, western mass, for approval. Godspeed!
