prince must have been emo before our times--

apparently it's the original spelling of the song title:

I'm especially impressed with the way that, by finding and stereotyping a messageboard for 'emo kids', the Sonic Youth fans have proved the stereotype of Sonic Youth fans being pretentious, superior, know-it-all, holier-than-thou pricks to be entirely right. Kudos, SY message board, kudos.

Savage Clone 04.28.2008 12:36 PM

To be fair, it's not like their posts exactly shattered our preconceptions with their eloquence and insight.
But yeah, we're a bunch of snobs.
I actually feel some empathy for emo types though, because when me and my friends looked like that 20 years ago, they just called you "faggot." And then they threw garbage at you in the lunchroom. It's hard to blame teenagers for acting like teenagers.

sarramkrop 04.28.2008 12:37 PM

Tell us something new.

I admit I didn't read this thread much deeply, did someone actually say somthing like "we are better"?

modern emo boys avoid this by kissing each other.

Same over here nicfit.

Though I really want to punch that Oli Sykes guy in the face.

Everyneurotic 04.28.2008 01:30 PM

i can't be arsed to troll there, sorry.

it's like shooting toasters in a barrel, as you gabachos say.

and since hayden and jade are not around that much anymore, i doubt serious trolling can happen there.

Derek 04.28.2008 01:36 PM

But dude, Andy Warhol sang for The Velvet Underground.

How could anyone not know that?

Everyneurotic 04.28.2008 01:48 PM

yeah, plus andy wore wigs and was gay = emo.

The world is such a drab. That's why emo love bright colors.

A super rare song by MCR.

We should all put a super rare song by MCR in our fav song bit, make the people on the board wonder, "WHERE CAN I GET THESE SONGS???"
