Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - "Your funeral...my trial" on 2xLP :)

"Black monk time" is a killer! Awesome album.

gmku 04.16.2008 10:14 PM

It's a weird one. It would have been better if they'd been less goofy. And used fewer of those shift-gears key changes.

Einstuerzende Neubauten - Haus der Luege
Ed Kuepper - The Butterfly Net
As well as Sonic Youth's Corporate Ghost DVD.

gmku 04.17.2008 01:27 PM

I'm worried about myself. I haven't found anything interesting enough to buy. Last three times (most recently, today) I've visited the record shop, I've walked out empty handed.

gmku 04.17.2008 01:40 PM

The 4-pack of Flying Dog's Double Dog Double Pale Ale looks far more interesting than any record or CD I looked at today--though it will last not nearly as long! In fact, it's gonna go pretty fast.

The closest thing that came to seeming halfway interesting was a VG used copy of Hendrix's Band of Gypsies (U.S. cover). Meh. Not a huge fan of the album, though I love Hendrix, and I have the CD. Plus I do not like buying any Lp that's rated less than VG-plus.

And for the first time in like decades, I saw a sealed, new LP copy of Kind of Blue. Some kind of German import. But I have two used copies, one in really good shape, and the CD. There comes a point, you know. Plus the reproduction of the cover art, especially the back cover, was very poor. Very washed out looking. And it wasn't any kind of special vinyl, like 180 gram or anything. So another "Meh."

What can a poor boy do?

Yes, I think it's good that it does, really. Gives you time to appreciate what you have, and think about what you like.

It's a Best Buy exclusive. Not sure if you have those stores in the UK. It has a 20 minute live version of Cynus...Vismund Cygnus. and that's all. It also came with a download code for "Pulled To Bits" and "Birthday" but it was expired and I already have them.

Here's the video in two parts on Youtube

Well, don't we all. You have to think that he was probably severely twisted at that moment.

This one from early TMV has him dancing around and shouting in Spanish during the breakdown. I have no idea what he's shouting, both Cedric and Omar have shouted it a few times throughout ATDI and TMV.

"Together we're gonna nail this shit down". Yeah, I think it's safe to say that's Jim. A bit too hokey...for Cedric even.

Well, Jim had to do something, he was the only "American" one in the band. The Wales sticker on his guitar didn't help much either.

I used to love Jim and hate O & C. But the tables have turned. Jim never wrote back to me, so i am sad. :(

Well, at least you'll never have that disappointment with Ced and 'Mar. You know full-well they would never answer.
