Uncirculated master recording I made nearly 9 years ago now. This show has been waiting to be transferred to digital files for a long long time now. One of the best concerts I’ve ever personally attended. The crowd is one of the most electricfying and loudest I’ve ever been in so their presence drowns out the band at some points and cheering does cause to the sound to clip. I recorded Kraftwerk later that night and the sound form that is much better so any major problems with the sound can be attributed to the crowd. I might track down the FM recording (which is only 35mins) as well to post later. There’s video footage of part of the performance in the Electric Picnic documentary DVD released in 2006, gives you an idea how wild the crowd were for the performance.

Another uncirculated master I taped at the Electric Picnic festival in 2005. Pretty sure show is incomplete as 72 mins is the limit of the mini discs used to tape the show but my memory of a show nearly 9 years ago is hazy at best. The setlist on setlist.fm indicates that I may have missed the 3rd Encore of Elektro Kardiogramm, Aéro Dynamik & Music Non Stop but my recording has Trans Europe Express at the end of the recording (not before the first encore) so I don’t know how accurate that is. There is supposedly a DVD recording of this show in existence somewhere according to the eTree DB but I haven’t seen it show up for download anywhere.

Bill Orcutt is the guitarist of Miami based noise rock trio Harry Pussy and a guitar virtuoso-free improviser in his own right. There’s probably track titles there (he mentions the last track is a cover) but Orcutt plays them in such an abstract form that its impossible to tell.

No that venue isn’t a mistake, the gig was indeed staged in an opticians. Dublin has had a serious lack of a solid venue for underground experimental music to be held for quite some time now, various galleries and random spaces (like this one) host shows for a few months at a time then drop off the map. I know this kind of music is not profitable for anyone concerned, not least the venues & promoters, but the bouncing around of shows all over the place gets tiring. Since taping this show and prepping it for upload (Feb 2014) Molly & Dowlings have stopped shows and they’ve moved on to other venues already..

http://noisenotmusic.wordpress.com/2...lac-recording/

Here's a recording of Bill Orcutt I made back in November, I didn't think the show was particularly good but it sounds pretty good so some of you may be into his acoustic mangling stuff.

Notes:

Upstairs in Whelans is always a great sounding venue and this reflects that I think, one of the better recordings I’ve done with the internal R-09 mics. Recording started out at input level 30 (the max) and steadily had to be adjusted downwards as the band got louder and louder as they progressed. It ended up around level 19/20 by the end of the second piece and stayed at that level. The difference in recording formats is down to space, I didn’t know how much memory I’d have on my SD card so left it at 16/44. When they played the encore (track 4) I knew I’d have enough space for about 17 minutes at 24/48 and they played 16:53!

Somebody, please, please tell me that the one time Ash Bowie plays out with his new Libraness lineup, that someone got it. Somebody did, but, will anyone unearth it?

Huge POLVO fanatics don't just go see Libraness, and not document it, at least not everyone in attendance.

Sorry if I sound like a desperate nerd, not really.
Thanks.

Tracks were split fairly arbitrarily, I think there’s seques into other tracks aorund where the splts are but I’m not that sure. The sound for this show was off, it wasn’t that loud in the normal sense but was a lot “heavier”. The recording really reflects the lack of bass response the Edirol R-09 mics have which is a pity as it’s a major part of the Demdike appeal. If someone wants to attempt a cleanup/remaster on this go right ahead. It also sounds far better on headphones than through speakers.

Both above are Sony ECM-719 mic -> Sony MZ-N710 MD -> SoundForge -> FLAC v1.1.2a with FLAC Frontend v1.7.1

Luminaire, London, UK 14 Dec 2006
Soundboard -> HP iRiver H120 -> SoundForge -> FLAC v1.1.2a with FLAC Frontend v1.7.1

All untitled jams
The Skaters are a duo of James Ferraro and Spencer Clark

This trio of recordings comes from the mighty British taper pjc who spent a number of years taping a good number of undergound noise acts around the UK. He’s dropped off from taping the last few years which is a pity as he normally managed to get soundboard access for a lot of his recordings. These three recordings are of different appearences The Skaters (James Ferraro & Spencer Clarke) made in the UK in 2006. I was lucky to catch them at the Thurston Moore ATP performance so that one is pretty special to me.

Has anyone heard of any late 90's, particularly 1999 Trans AM sets? I saw them on the Futureworld tour, and I knew the sound guy, which gave me the best sounding bootleg I've ever heard, from that show. I loaned it to the girl I went with, but moved and lost touch.

It was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I remember they opened with Home Surveillance, then Television Eyes.
Thanks.
