Ashtray Navigations – Stranded In The Sea/Standing In The Tea [Fargone Records, 2006]
February 23, 2009 at 5:33 pm (Drone, cassette) (Ashtray Navigations, Fargone Records) I have not listened to any other Ashtray Navigations bar this tape so I’m not really in the position to comment on whether it’s good/bad comapred to the rest of his releases. Ashtray Navigations is the UK drone/noise project of the always-prolific Phil Todd, who in addition to recording under a number of aliases and groups, is responsible for his own Memoirs of an Aesthete label. Here he turns in some typically dense, engaging lo-fi work, two sides of in-the-red sludge hiding countless layers of detail and melodic beauty. The A-side is a haunting, eerie drone with hints of spiky noise disrupting its unsettling peace, while the B-side erupts into all-out chaotic noise, with hints of melodic bells chiming underneath.http://noisenotmusic.wordpress.com/page/3/ |

This posted by me, not a quote from a blog
I have been loving this album for some months now, so its time you did too. Its by someone called Adam Bohman, and i think i read about him on a shop site or something, he used to be in a group called Morphogenesis who were apparently a big thing in the 80s UK weird underground, but i know nothing of their stuff. I dont know if this link works, but this album "Bunhill Road" is a beautiful little piece of acoustic, tinkery, windows-open-in-the-heat-of-summer album. If you like The Shadow Ring, dive in and be happy, this is very much for you. If the phrase "avant" brings you out in rashes, there are actual songs in here, performed with an acoustic guitar and a bugle, but songs they remain. Well famous comedian Stewart Lee writing about Morphogenesis - How Morphogenesis popped Stewart Lee's avant-phobia http://www.stalk.net/paradigm/morphogenesis.htm Adam Bohman - Bunhill Road http://art-into-life.com/?pid=19909853 |

Neither rare or out of print...
Could be the wrong place to post this, but here's a new E.P. I'm giving away in MP3 format... It's kinda sludgy-noise made from Lionel Richie records. The cassette version is ready to ship, just P.M. me if ever you want a tape of this, 30 copies available. Enjoy! |
is this kinda rare and oop?
|
I hope it's rare, because I have a copy.
|
I recently found out I have a sun city girls album worth $90. Hm.
|
Hi guys - new in here - fantastic thread you guys and much respect to all involved in helping keep these rareties alive.
I got a request too and it's a biggy - I used to have this record on Lydia Lunch's label Widowspeak - Emilio Cubeiro's "Death Of An Asshole".(http://www.discogs.com/Emilio-Cubeir...elease/1585998) Spoken word thing with Jim Thirlwell and Lydia Lunch and maybe even Thurston laying down atmospherics and stuff. It would be absolutely amazing to get a copy of this again and i think it would suit this thread down to a t. So howzabout it? Anyone gots? |
i came to notice that mutant sounds is riddled with bogus vinyl rips.
|
OH?
|
a) they don't sound like vinyl rips
b) the timestamps match cd-reissues oh well. some of them, anyway. |
weird
i was hoping they were adding vinyl noise on top of cd reissues for fun |
i'm just saying...
why lie about it? eh. |
