Emily A Sprague's Water Memory/Mount Vision is good. Electronic/Ambient. Technically a re-release of two eps but there are a few bonus tracks.

This is an incredibly talented and very epic black metal 6 piece from my area. I have watched them develop since the beginning and their success has been incredibly gratifying to witness. Do yourself a favor and give it a listen. Their compositional prowess is astounding. ![]() |

More or less a recent-ish/recent/new/upcoming releases data DUMP, avoiding some that have already been mentioned (Lea Bertucci, Oren Ambarchi, Royal Trux, etc.):

Orchestra - Arrival http://www.runegrammofon.com/artists/fire_/rcd2205-fire-orchestra-arrival-cd-2lp/ Bitchen cover of Chic's "At Last I Am Free". Mats Gustafsson and Jason Adasiewicz - Timeless https://gustafsson1.bandcamp.com/album/timeless Anthony Braxton - Quartet (New Haven) 2014 https://firehouse12records.com/album/quartet-new-haven-2014 Anthony Braxton/Taylor Ho Bynum/Nels Cline/Greg Saunier in a 4CD set with titles like "Improvisation One (For guitarist/composer Jimi Hendrix)" and "Improvisation Three (For vocalist/composer James Brown)". (The other two are Janis Joplin and Merle Haggard). I fuckin' love it already! Steve Gunn - "Be Still Moon"/"Shrunken Heads" https://stevegunn.bandcamp.com/album/be-still-moon-shrunken-heads He also covered Neil Young's "Motion Pictures (For Carrie)" for the Amazon Original series: https://www.amazon.com/Motion-Pictures-Carrie-Amazon-Original/dp/B07TJMJHPP/ref=sr_1_1 The Hold Steady - Thrashing Thru The Passion https://holdsteady.bandcamp.com/album/thrashing-thru-the-passion I wonder whether the title is a nod to the R.E.M. song. Joyero (Wye Oak's [and Lambchop's!] Andy Stack) - Release The Dogs https://joyero.bandcamp.com/album/release-the-dogs Mount Eerie - (fireworks & wind) https://pwelverumandsun.bandcamp.com/track/fireworks-wind One track for a buck. "fireworks and wind recorded July 4th, 2019 from outside town. no big deal. no reason for this recording. no physical release. the wind gradually increases." Art Ensemble Of Chicago - We Are On The Edge https://artensembleofchicago.bandcamp.com/album/we-are-on-the-edge https://artensembleofchicago.bandcamp.com/album/we-are-on-the-edge-a-50th-anniversary-celebration Joan Shelley - Like The River Loves The Sea https://joanshelley.bandcamp.com/album/like-the-river-loves-the-sea Dyson Stringer Cloher - "Falling Clouds" https://dysonstringercloher.bandcamp.com/track/falling-clouds One track, probably a preview of the album they recorded at Wilco's The Loft with Glenn Kotche on drums/percussion. Tropical Fuck Storm - "Who's My Eugene [Radio Edit]" https://tropicalfstorm.bandcamp.com/track/whos-my-eugene-radio-edit Of all the things the internet supposedly wiped out, one would think a "radio edit" should be damn near the top. Unless your attention span is really shitty, that is; on the other hand, this is just 33 seconds shorter than the upcoming album version, so it ain't gonna tilt the cart. ANYWAY, it's Tropical Fuck Storm - if you don't want everything by them you're probably a Coalition supporter or summat. Juliana Hatfield - Juliana Hatfield Sings The Police https://www.alr-music.com/collections/the-juliana-hatfield-three/products/juliana-hatfield-sings-the-police Bill Orcutt - Odds Against Tomorrow https://palilalia.com/ This one looks awesome. Brian Eno with Daniel Lanois & Roger Eno - Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks Extended Edition https://brian-eno.net/ "The original Apollo album remastered for the first time + For All Mankind, a brand new album of 11 instrumentals". Wait, so my 2009 or whatever it is CD version is not remastered? I'm pretty sure it is; I think they mean "first time remastered on vinyl". Jeff Mills - Moon: The Area Of Influence https://www.axisrecords.com/#artist Lloyd Cole - Guesswork https://www.lloydcole.com/press/guesswork-and-2019-tour-press-release/ Tom Verlaine guests! Violent Femmes - Hotel Last Resort https://vfemmes.com/ Tom Verlaine guests! (No, I'm not becoming senile; he guests on this album too). Robyn Hitchcock/Andy Partridge - Planet England EP https://burningshed.com/store/ape/ar...andy-partridge "Andy Partridge and I are thrilled in our own dismal, British way to announce that the recordings we began in his shed in Swindon in 2006 are now complete and released on APE records. After a long hiatus we returned to the project last year, adding a fourth song to three completed ones, enough for an EP entitled PLANET ENGLAND." —RH |

Clairo released an aoa couple weeks ago. I had no idea it was coming. Pretty subdued. Nice mesh of her styles, way more heavily rock oriented.
FINALLY got the new Bertucci. Good. Not mind blowing, but I had been looking forward to it a while. This album by YATTA is pretty neat. It's kind of spoken word/beat poetry influenced, but with some unique soundscapes. Some parts remind me of Animal Collective vocals on Hollindagain. |
Oh and there's a new Jefre Cantu-Ledesma album. Nice ambient guitar, a horn on one track. Peeps here would like it.

![]() ‘Stofwolk’ is the first music from Ottla, the new 6 piece band around guitarist and composer Bert Dockx (Flying Horseman; Dans Dans). It’s a spacious and moody guitar epic, mysterious and exciting. Listen to the full track: https://fanlink.to/stofwolk Drawing by Mori Yuzan. Animated by Visuals Internationals. ‘Ottla’ is the latest addition to our roster, their debut album is due this fall on Unday records (in collab with WERF Records), more on that soon. Following Dans Dans and Flying Horseman (and the odd solo-venture; see Strand and Transit), Ottla is the latest outlet for the boundless energies of Bert Dockx. He gathered an outstanding sextet with an unexpected – double drummer – line up featuring: Bert Dockx (guitar) Frans Van Isacker (alto sax) Thomas Jillings (tenor sax) Nicolas Rombouts (bass) Louis Evrard (drums, percussion) Yannick Dupont (drums, percussion, electronics) Ottla's self titled debut album is due fall 2019. |

This record should be played at Mar-A-Vago at ear-dissolving volume. DT: What is that fuckin' racket?! Assistant: It's a tropical storm, Mr. President. DT: Well turn it down! Assistant: I'm sorry, sir, there's nothing we can do about it. It's a tropical fuck storm. DT: What did you just say to me?! Assistant: A tropical FUCK storm, sir. It used to be drones. DT: What?! I can't hear ya! Assistant: AUSTRALIAN DRONES, sir. But they got pissed off because you wouldn't do jack shit about climate change, or anything else for that matter, and you keep shitting on the world in every fucking possible way imaginable, so they mutated into a TROPICAL FUCK STORM. DT: Fuck you!!! Assistant: No, tropical FUCK YOU, ASSHOLE! |

From the archival department: some of Kath Bloom & Loren Connors' albums from the first half of the '80s —Moonlight, Sand In My Shoe and Restless Faithful Desperate, if I'm not mistaken— are being reissued, the first two I just named on October 4, the third out now.
https://kathbloomlorenconnors.bandcamp.com/ This is tremendous and I'm hoping someone here is willing to be my getaway driver, because I'm robbing a liquor store in order to buy 'em. |
