TVotR are okay. There's worse things in the indie canon like Joanna Newsom, but she's pretty much dead at this point, no?

What's even weirder is that Steve Albini digs her. I think she's alright, never got why so many people are afraid of her.

tvotr is okay. they have a couple decent songs, anyway. that one with bowie is good. the tribute to howlin' wolf is good. "golden age" is a class-a jam, nothing more, nothing less.

-Tim Buckley is a way better artist then Jeff Buckley
-The Who pisses over The Beatles and in less way The Stones wen it comes to greatness, even I do like the beatles and stones allot
-Lust For Life is a averge album with three outstanding songs
-Meat Is Murder is a preachy peice of shit
-The Sex Pistols where like a boyband only with guitars and a rough attutide
-The Police kicks The Pistols and The Clash's ass
-The Libertines have to be one of the most intresting things that happend in English indie-music since the 1994 britpop stuff
-In Utero is far far better then Nevermind
-The Breeders's Pod & Last Splash are better then Pixies' Bossanova
-Staind used to be a good band till their second album
-Dirty/Washing Machine/Sister/Bad Moon Rising are better then Daydream Nation
-Queen Of The Stone Age are a great band
-Rufus Wainright's want I/II and Poses are great albums
-Television bores me
-Blood Sugar Sex Magik is still a great record
-Radiohead's best work are Pablo Honey and The Bends
-This Is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About is the only Modest Mouse record that matters
-Maxïmo Park, Five O'clock Heroes and Arctic Monkeys are great bands
-Lilly Allen's new album is good
-Deftones where till White Pony a epic band
-The two things Eric Clapton recorded that really matter are the Blind Faith album and the Cream albums
-Down in Albion is a great album

I still love Deftones. THe only one I didn't like was self-titled.

I still do love them also, their latest is underated. The selftiteld was a let down but yeah, one averge album out of 5 isn't to bad.

That and Nevermind are about 50/50, so while generally gets talked about more (Because it came first and had Smells Like Teen Spirit), they're generally divided.

Like you, I prefer In Utero myself.

I bought Dear Science due to all the hype and just could not fucking get into it.

I never bought it, but listend to it and felt the same as with return to cookie mountian. It just doesn't do it for me.

The Who's pre-Tommy material is better than the bloated cock-rock that came after, but even then, it's still kinda meh. The Kinks whip their ass.

I adore tommy and the who next but also they pre-matarial. The Kinks are great as well.

Daydream Nation is one of my least favorite SY records. At my bottom 4 list somewhere.

To use an overused cliche.. I am awaiting Joanna Newsom's next album with bated breath, eager anticipation, etc etc <3 her. It took a while to get used to her voice, but once I did, I loved it.

Here's one that I doubt anyone but myself on this board will agree with: Incubus is one of the best band of this decade =D (okay their last album kind of sucked, but Make Yourself, Morning View, and A Crow Left of the Murder are all great)

Also, the following bands suck to incomprehensible amounts:
The Smiths (big time)
The Arcade Fire (a little less so, but still big time suckage)
R.E.M. (blahhhbalhhhbalhhrahhh im michael stipe blahhhh)

I've always thought Arcade Fire were INSANELY over-rated. I guess the first record's OK but the second one? Most boring piece of shit I've ever heard. When I worked at Border's we played that record at least ten times a day and I STILL can't remember how any song other than My body is a cage goes.

the smiths are so boring. i don't get the moz/marr worship. they have a few (emphasis on few) good songs, but loads of generic or downright awful ones, too.

won't get fooled again is awesome. i don't really listen to the who anymore, especially not their arena RAWK stuff, but that song still grabs me by the metaphorical balls and kicks my ass all over town. yeah. all the build ups, break downs, little explosions on that track... fantastic.
