Dr. Eugene Felikson 06.09.2010 03:21 PM

When I think of GD throughout the day, as I often do. I chuckle to myself, as a Hershey bar drops from my trousers, and wonder "Man, that guy sure is the grooviest muchacho I know."

I proceed to pick up my chocolate snack, slowly (due to excruciating back injury), and let the chocolate melt on my fingertips underneath the deafening Michigan summer sun. I suck the milky, chocolatey sludge right off the grains of my fingerprints and fantasize about him actually acknowledging me in a friendly manner.

Maybe.

Maybe, just this once...

Genteel Death 06.09.2010 03:21 PM

I think you'd love him. Maybe.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 06.09.2010 03:24 PM

You wouldn't know it, but my eyes just twinkled.

Disaffected internet emotion collected.

I just discovered The Monks (not the 70s punk band, but the American GI's stationed in Germany in the 60s who basically inspired the fall, devo, and krautrock). They are awesome...how have I never heard of them?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5iI0__9S1c

Dr. Eugene Felikson 06.11.2010 02:15 AM

People cry,
People die for you.
People kill,
People will for you.

Valium, lithium, percodan, muscle relaxers, marijuana, klonopin, vicodin, hallucinogens, zantac, ventolin, benzedrine and cocaine.

Oh, I thought you said DRUGS that are blowing my mind.

batreleaser 06.11.2010 12:41 PM

I hate benzodiazepines. They turn me into a nonsensical retard.

auto-aim 06.11.2010 01:31 PM

Naked City for me recently... though I've been listening to a lot of fantomas too - oh and Charlottefield... worth checking them out of you like unwound, as I know a lot of people do - you'll probably dig some of their hooks.

ni'k 06.11.2010 01:41 PM

the radio on http://darkstep.org/

DeadDiscoDildo 06.11.2010 03:54 PM

Yeah man, I've seen all the beat club videos of the monks now and I just heard em last night.

Cuckoo is my favorite, and the drummer kind of sounds like the singer of COMPLETE. HAHA.

They are all amazing though...I kind of dig them alittle more than the fall....

its got that 60s beat i love, some haunting organs, but so much heavy tribal drums...

I could see my band going in this direction, sort of, we're only a 3 piece tho, no organs.

Monk Chant & complications are the SHIT too...unlike most anything I've ever heard from the time, and only heard a few bands do similar stylings well ever since...

Right now, THIS one is blowing my mind the most...SO trippy...and a year 1/2 before piper at the gates/sgt pepper/any psychedelic shit truly broke...

Def, FAR superior and more demented/psychedelic than the (extremely overrated and tame) 13th floor elevators that everyone gushes about...they are just boring blues to me.
