"Well, the ones that are smart are never funny"

then she gets in his face and says "look into my eyes when you're talking to me! I don't think so joe!"

Yeah, what a dick he is. And then he says "this is dumb shit" when she says she's going to stick her cigarette up his nose. Um, ok... again, the guy really is a dick. After all, she was only trying to make friends. Lol

Her objective was to criticize his comedy and her crime was being rude. His objective was to cover his own ass and his crime was yelling at her and hitting her. His objectives were more selfish and his crime was more severe. Here's a gif of him hitting her: http://gifninja.com/animated-gifs/152005/joe

Wow, would you say Lydia isn't the self righteous egotistical sort? If not, you should read more into her. I'd say he and Lydia probably have a lot in common, depending on what angle ya choose to view the scenario from.

I mean, are Sonic Youth fans supposed to think a certain way? As a fan of a certain band, is it weird someone likes this comedian? I wonder why ya feel this way. let me guess, I'm supposed to like Dinosaur Jr and Kathleen Hannah too, right? Strange.

Yr not supposed to, but I won't deny that I was sort of expecting it... I started this thread thinking that common interests would lead me to find out more about Lydia's music. I wasn't expecting a debate like this... I'm just getting used to the culture 'round these parts. I'll probably be less controversial in future.

I dislike Kathleen. I respect Dinosaur, but get bored of them fairly quickly when listening to them.

And honestly, I don't think you're controversial at all. You seem cool. Just realize some people have personalities (like Lydia) which are just so "obvious", that tons of differing opinions on her will br brought up whenever she's mentioned. No different that Courtney Love or former president Bush.

update: sway gets bored listening to dinosaur jr yet still maintains the most fucking boring taste of anyone on this shit hole of a message board

If by this you mean I don't enjoy Limp B + Avril, you are correct.

Derek 07.07.2012 10:35 AM

Starcat 07.07.2012 01:17 PM

Limp B. stands for Limp Based God.

None what so ever. I mean, of course I have a small apartment, a 2001 truck, and an OK job...but I've never went out of my way to put myself into a situation I couldn't really afford, either. Live within my means. I think it's pretty "grown up".

But ya know, I like the Stooges and James Chance so I need to grow up. haha

I feel pretty growed up. But I live with five other people, have a car that's older than I am, and have a job that only exists every week or so. But having those five people be my bandmates, having that car be hand-painted as an American flag, and having that job be cutting hair in my home-salon, it feels pretty worth it.

Yeah, I've done that whole several-room mate thing before. I might even do it again one day...

It's nice when one feels it's appropriate to stick their nose in business it doesn't belong in. Murmer is cool.

He must have struck a serious nerve w/ you for ya to throw out that sort of insult. Good for him.
