Birds of Delay is the duo of Steven Warwick and Luke Younger, who are based in Leeds and London. They have become one of the most consistent and best offerings from the UK noise scene, with a prolific outpouring of material, through a never ending list of labels, including No Fun, American Tapes, and Alcoholic Narcholepsy, and their continually evolving live performances. While their sound is underpinned by some almighty drones, the pair bring out an ever-changing array of instruments and electronic trickery to create some of the most intricately rendered ‘noise’ around. In their own words, they craft “”destructive improvisations to rattle the body and shake the soul in an attempt to create an emotionally cathartic experience for both performer and listener”
Supporting Talibam! on the night is the newly formed supergroup that is Seamonger. Made up of Gavin Prior (on noise and electronics) fom Toymonger with Scott (on drums) and Damien (on guitar) of Limerick based rockers SeaDog, they formed only recently and this is their first ever outing live..

Vomir may well be the most extreme gig ever to come to Cork, with a sound built of layer upon layer of analogue noise, his performances are full on, and wash over and into the listeners. Prepare to be immersed.
vomirhnw.blogspot.com

Blue Sabbath Black Fiji are a guitar noise duo from Glasgow, and make a riotous noise that pushes rock to the far limits. Blasts of pop and beats fight with vocals and guitar, recalling the tougher end of Sonic Youth, or Wolf Eyes.
myspace.com/bluesabbathblackfiji

La Societe des Amis du Crime got their sounds, metals and voices twisted. And now you can see where that got them.

What do you guys think is the most solid long term site for uploading large files? That wetrns.fr site looks good but files are only around for 7 days, which isn't useful for posting to my blog. Mediafire is obviously best for anything up to 200mb but after that I'm stuck.. I've just been hosting files myself but my bandwidth is getting a hammering since I've started posting more so I need to find something reliable..

I might try wupload.com as it can take up to 2GB for a free user.

ilduclo 02.26.2012 02:28 PM

hotfile is 300 mb, so splits are needed beyond that.

"Q.For how long are files stored?
A. In principle, we host data without a time limit. But files that have not been accessed for 90 days are deleted to relieve the system of forgotten and not needed content. This rule does not apply to Premium members."

Neurosis & Drainland – The Button Factory, Dublin 25/7/2011

Source: Edirol R-09 inbuilt mics (Low cut off, Low gain setting > WAV (16bit)
Location: Stage left, appox ten rows back standing.
Total Running time: 1hrs 31mins
File size: 387mb
01 – Locust Star
02 – Given to the Rising
03 – End of the Harvest
04 – A Season in the Sky
05 – At the Well
06 – Water Is Not Enough
07 – Belief
08 – At the End of the Road
09 – Killing Elk
10 – Through Silver in Blood (Incomplete)
—–
Notes:
Sound on the night was incredible, one of the best gigs sound wise I’ve been to but it was incredibly loud and I accidentally left the Edirols Auto Gain Control setting on (normally manually set the input) which leaves much of the recording fairly brickwalled. It’s not too bad but the thudding from the walling covers a lot of detail.
Missed the end of Through Silver in Blood due to dead batteries. Missed maybe 5 minutes worth.
This is the first show Neurosis played in Ireland in maybe 10 years I think and after missing them on many, many occasions as various festivals around Europe I had to go see them. Support on the night came from local metal/noise group Drainland who ould be probably best known for the CD they put out on Southern Lord Records last year. Since then they’ve been one of the most prolific bands in Ireland releaseing split record after split record.

Notes: This was my first proper field recording with the R-09 since purchasing it and
there’s a bit of sound adjusment but it sounds pretty solid. Cian Nugent was recorded but pretty much unuseable.
Recording of the Cork leg of the tour Stellar OM Source did around Ireland in May 2010. Stellar OM Source is the work of Dutch electronic musician Christelle Gualdi, she plays a style along the lines of the modern synth exploration sound but mixed with a techno style as well. Boys Of Summer are the Irish komische synth goup (at this point still a trio) we all know and love. Gig itself was pretty good even if Freds is a tiny venue which probably can’t fit more than 50 people.

I'll be happy to. Didn't even try it, because I have all my bandwidth dedicated to the purpose of seeding my recording at the moment, but I'll provide a wetransfer link tomorrow. That show in Bristol taped by tomn_71 is pretty ace, it has been my first exposure to the new tunes (my copy of the album hasn't arrived yet, I pre-ordered about a month ago, and just got notified last week that they shipped it ), which are pretty cool, and Earth also performed "Harvey" and "Tallahassee".
