Yes sirree bob - retention is kinda short (2 weeks), but the 2 GB file limit can't be beat.

(For smaller uploads I still use MedaFire which keeps stuff around far longer.)

hipster_bebop_junkie 01.03.2012 12:13 PM

Thank you so much, Martin!

nicfit, I will only use wetransfer for very large files, and stick to Megaupload for the rest. My Warpaint recording is almost 800 MB, and while it'd be hosted only for a couple weeks on Wetransfer, it was much more comfortable to zip one directory, instead of going through the hassle of splitting, etc...

is that an upgrade in sound quality, Martin? The copy I've had, I think since it was first out, is really poor.

It very much is - the previously circulating version was my second master, chronologically speaking (read: very kludgy beginner's taping attempt, Martin didn't know what he was doing). This version sounds a bit cavernous but that's merely a reflection of Nighttown's poor acoustics.

Pookie 01.13.2012 08:49 AM

Hey, just gonna share a few things that have been sitting on my webserver for a while. All of them have been downloaded from DIME at some point so I doubt there'll be anything majorly new for anyone but I thought I'd put the links out there anyway in case someone missed them first time round.

Free Noise
with Evan Parker, Paul Hession, Yellow Swans, John Weise, C. Spencer Yeh, Metalux, John Edwards & Culver
at Arnolfini, Bristol, UK

Free Noise is an eagerly awaited first-time collaboration featuring major names from the burgeoning noise and free jazz scenes on both sides of the Atlantic. As free jazz was originally seen as an abuse of established musical forms, so is noise today. This Contemporary Music Network tour brings together the revolutionary genius at the heart of both for a visceral, revelatory and often explosive experience. Over two sets, and through a series of improvised combinations, the paths of these two unorthodox musics will converge to create something both beautiful and terrifying. Expect riotous freeform squalls, minimalist meditations and breathtaking cliffs of extreme volume.

Set 1 : 47:28
Set 2 : 49:51

I got the following information with the cdr:recorded on 23.April 1979, (probably) at the Von-der-Heydt-Museum, Wuppertal, Germany
Searching the internet I found the following: 7. Wuppertaler Free Jazz Workshop 19.- 22.4.79 (Flyer)
And also that Peter Kowald was responsible for the realisation of museum concerts at the Von der Heydt Museum Wuppertal 1972-75 and Wuppertaler Free Jazz Workshop 1973-82.
So - either the concert was at April 23.1979 and not in the Museum or it was there but not on the given date!?
However it's fantastic music - please ENJOY!
