Due to work, family etc., all are tentative but I should be able to catch some of them:
January 23, 2016: X______X, MOTR Pub, Cincinnati, Ohio February 27, 2016: Wussy/Scrawl (GREAT double bill), Woodward Theater, Cincinnati, Ohio March 18, 2016: They Might Be Giants, Madison Theater, Covington, Kentucky * April 9, 2016: The Mountain Goats, The Vogue, Indianapolis, Indiana May 15, 2016: Wanda Jackson, Southgate House Revival, Newport, Kentucky Really excited about the X______X show--seminal legends don't come to town everyday, and it's a FREE show. They Might Be Giants has an * because there's a possibility I might see Webb Wilder the same night at Natalie's in Worthington (suburban Columbus), Ohio. But March 18 is a Friday and that would be tough to make due to work. Outside chance I might see Eternal Summers at Ace of Cups in Columbus, Ohio on January 17, 2016 but that's only if everything goes smoothly this coming week--which probably won't happen. :( |
Thurston Moore & Steve Noble - London, January 21st

If you're a fan and have never seen them, I highly recommend. They don't put on a show, they host a party. Tons of fun. |

Yes, Stu666 always seems to have good gigs coming up. That All Tomorrow's Parties lineup in particular is quite impressive. Even though I wouldn't call myself a fan of TMBG, I've liked what relatively little I've heard from them. It's just that there's so much music, so little time to check everything out that I'd like to check out. I'm leaning toward seeing them as opposed to Webb Wilder because as good as Webb is, he seems to come around more often than They Might Be Giants. |
I saw Jake Meginsky and Bill Nace do solo sets in New Orleans last night. So great, never seen either of them before outside of youtube videos. It was at a fashion show in a small gallery and they cleared the room except for me and a few others sitting down in front of them.
They were both super friendly dudes. I asked Bill Nace about another Body/Head record and he said they should be recording one soon. |

I get to see Herr Brotz with the 4tet this May, I'll take my copy of Machine Gun to get it signed! 75$ is a fun show, kind of an avant dirty blues. They played here in Tiny Town and I was impressed. I also heard an NYC taper set that I didn't think as much of.....let me know how you find em. Nice guys! Seeing Dave Douglas tonite. I really liked some of his earlier stuff better (Sanctuary, in particular) but he's always at least somewhat enjoyable, bad features Linda Oh on bass, who I've never heard, but heard good things about and Jon Irabagon who I've heard in MOPDTK, but never seen live. |

did you see these sets upcoming? 3/30-4/8/16 UNNATURAL WAYS EUROPEAN TOUR Mendoza- guitar, sing / Tim Dahl- bass / Sam Ospovat- drums 3/31 in Utrecht, NE @ RASA, Pauwstraat 13-A, 3512 TG Utrecht, Netherlands 4/1 in Amsterdam, NE @ Bimhuis |

Dood I fucking know. But this week is my last week so I HAVE to go. I'm really upset. I have this dilemma. Either I go(I can possibly make it after class if I get our early enough) and don't tell my girlfriend and hopefully my friends don't spill the beans or don't go. I mean....will she be that mad? probably not since we're going to show Saturday...but our plan was to go tonight, and that may bother her. |
Saw Sleater-Kinney tonight here in Melbourne.
Great set - but I wish I could've made it last night because they played I wanna be your Joey Ramone with the appended lyric.. (ie I wanna be yr Kim Gordon instead of Thurston) |
caught sunn o))) last night in dear old melbourne too, but I'm not really in a position to describe it, the enormity of the thing was just beyond words. my body has never experienced something so thorough in my entire life, was genuinely surprised it not only approached the loudness of live fushitsusha but surpassed them. truly magnificent.
recent highlights would be eddy current headlining golden plains coming off hiatus, htrk at the same festival/a show they played of free-flowing nocturnal drones a couple of months back and babyfather at unsound which was honestly nearly as good as live hype williams, never felt bass like that before and the songs from the upcoming hyperdub record were utter batshit. |
Got Battles next week and Animal Collective next month
|
I've got Tortoise and Boredoms lined up in the next few months which I'm really excited for. planning to see Max Romeo as well as long as I can get tickets for it.
there's also a wicked night happening in Paris in two weeks with Congo Natty and Coki (DMZ), looking forward to this one |
I'm going to Austin for a convention this weekend. Any cool shows coming up?

Due to having surgery, Wanda has cancelled her spring tour dates:( But here are some other possibilities: April 30, 2016 - Bully May 20, 2016 - Tom Rush (being a folkie doesn't necessarily make one evil, you know) July 15, 2016 - Guided By Voices * July 29, 2016 - Reverend Horton Heat * *what makes the excitement about these shows even better is that they're FREE, on Fountain Square in Cincinnati:) |
