Bright Eyes: Lifted or The Story is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground.

Secondhand. Was looking for it and found it. I was happy. I really like this dude.

k-krack 07.11.2007 06:33 PM

Man, I've been getting into Bright Eyes lately, and I used to hate him (well... I used USED to like him, then not, now like again...)
Which is unfortunate, because his albums are all like, $25 here.

I got The Flaming Lips' Transmissions From the Satellite Heart today.

trail of dead - source tags and codes

Norma J 07.11.2007 06:38 PM

Yeah I didn't get into him due to the hype years ago, bought an album abit later when necessary and didn't fall for it and then got another album for like $1.50, never fell for that either. Until last week or so I read an article on the guy in one of my girls magazines and got them back out and fucking love them. The album I bought yesterday is like $27 in shops here so I was glad when I found it for $14 secondhand in new condition. Good album.

Edited: Ma post is ta Krackmeister.

Nice! I had to decide, today, Big Black or the Jesus Lizard... I figured I'd get Albini before I got his 'underlings' (hehe).

Norma J 07.13.2007 10:06 PM

Great choices guys.

I ordered a bunch of dischord stuff for my birthday next week, one was the Four Old 7" on cd and then the next day or so I read the news that they've re-released it on clear 12" and extended booklet etc for the same price. haha fuckin' just my luck. Oh well.

I actually like the JL a bit more than Albini's bands. The Lizard are more visceral, less intellectual, and to my ears, more pummeling.

but there ain;t nothing like COPPER and it's last 20 seconds to blow the shit out of one's mind

gmku 07.16.2007 09:31 AM

What's that on?

gmku 07.16.2007 09:32 AM

Know what else I'm into lately? The Laughing Hyenas. Man, those Touch & Go people had some kick-ass bands on their label in the late 80s.

Also picked up a used copy of Widowmaker, T&G 12-inch 45, by Butthole Surfers the other day. Cover's a bit beat up and plastered with old DJ stickers, but the vinyl is clean.

gmku 07.16.2007 09:35 AM

Another recent one--Mark Lanegan, The Winding Sheet, on Sub Pop vinyl.

Everyneurotic 07.18.2007 10:38 AM

bardo pond/pre split 10"
the fix - at the speed of twisted thought...
blues control s/t
swans - cop/young god/greed/holy money

last three on cd, of course.

gmku 07.18.2007 04:43 PM

Is Holy Money on vinyl any good? I picked it up but just haven't had time to play it much yet. I sort of put the needle down in various tracks, lifted it off, went on to the Daydream box instead. Money sounds very dark and slow.

k-krack 07.18.2007 04:47 PM

I'm buying a few LP's tonight from a dude;
The Locust - s/t
Fugazi - Margin Walker (12" EP), Repeater, and In On The Kill Taker

Norma J 07.18.2007 05:52 PM

How much are you buying them for off this 'dude'?
