Went on a bit of a vinyl spree yesterday. It's been a long time since I bought so much crap at once.
Motörhead - No Sleep At All Agitation Free - Malesch (a krautrock favorite, finally reissued on really nice wax by Amber Soundroom) Comets On Fire - Avatar Six Organs Of Admittance - The Sun Awakens Pentagram - Show 'Em How Davie Allan and the Arrows - Devil's Rumble Anthology 64-68 |
Black Sabbath - Paranoid (nice 180gm reissue!)
& Fugazi - End Hits (vinyl) I don't know I waited so long to get Paranoid. It's fucking great! I want more of that demonic Sabbath stuff! It was very eerie playing Sabbath yesterday, though. I had the TV on mute and played Paranoid during the network news and all the coverage of N. Korea. Kinda spooky. |
Savage Clone - how do you like Avatar?
|
I give it a 65% superawesome/35% not my thing at all. The 35% would fall into the "well-executed-but-too-much-southern-fried-west-coast-action" category, and is just simply not to my personal taste. The other stuff totally slays though, and I say overall it was well worth the price of admission.

you can't go wrong with the first six sabbath albums, the rest are up for debate.

sunburned hand of the man - sopra l'influsso
this is pretty extremely ok. it's a dvd(r) featuring the sumbmurnmd dudes jamming in their most topnotchedest capacity, as well as a cd(r) featuring the music from the dvd in all its full-length glory. the cd might turn out to be my favorite sunburneed thing i own.the dvd is excellent as well, but my copy ceased to work at the 40 minute mark. whiiiiiiich sucks. alot. |
i got a package today:
the goslings - spaceheater/perfect interior angel'in heavy syrup - iv ovo/cock e.s.p. split 7" i still need to listen to them, although the a'ihs one i had on my hard drive for a while, might have gotten them from phil clonellins so thanks man. |
Keep calling me that and you can shove your thanks up your ass.
Emil gave me a copy of that Cock ESP/Ovo 7"; I don't think you'll be disappointed. I enjoyed it. |

I like DD I really like Teenage Riot, when I feel like shit I replay it and it just gets me out of my rut.

When I feel like shit, I consult pop radio. Honest. Pop music - specifically the dancier rap (i.e. "Spap Your Fingers" by Lil Jon and "I Know You See It" by Young Joc) and R&B (i.e. "Promiscuous" by Nelly Furtado and "Get Up" by Ciara) - lift me right up when I'm in this mood. I really do underestimate the power of a good pop song. People ridicule Pop-Hop for how brainless and unoriginal it is, when they should really just consider how danceable the damn songs are. |

Wolf Eyes- Human Animal
As awesome as I expected. Meat Puppets- II Great also, I'd been putting off buying it for ages as SST stuff is so expensive in Australia Last Week... Throbbing Gristle- Journey through a body the first 5 minutes sounds like an alarm going off, AWESOME. Mammatus- Mammatus Extremely great heavy psyche on Holy Mountain. Up there for album of the year for me. Highly recommended. |
