Yeah, he was annoying - had one of those smug faces - but I figured that was the way he was supposed to be so that the viewer wasn't totally sympathetic to him.

Torn Curtain 02.23.2008 06:06 PM

Into the wild.

I liked it a lot.

!@#$%! 02.23.2008 06:09 PM

i was watching lock stock & 2 smoking barrels and i got bored. fucking predictable, & the "cool" clichés were, well, clichés.

then i was watching the sundance shorts program from last year's sundance. it's available online thru netflix. fuck, i love netflix.

nicfit 02.23.2008 06:14 PM

yeah, that's more likely... It's just that I jumped on the wagon late and didn't want replies like "eeh, you noticed? took some time, huh?" :D ;) .

Everyneurotic 02.23.2008 09:04 PM

nicfit 02.24.2008 06:17 AM

30 days of night. LAME ASS MOVIE.
It looked like it could be somewhat interesting judging by the trailers, but it's bad. not even enertaining or particularly eastethically pleasing. bah. I'm glad I watched it for free.

Rob Instigator 02.24.2008 07:41 PM

it was just fluff, just complete and utter fluff.
it looked like jack black and mos def were doing someone they did not particularly like a big favor by being in the movie. oh god, I laughed ONCE in the first 25 minutes.

It was trying so very very hard for WHIMSY, which I fucking hate, especially when it is forced into a story about a video store that rents only VHS in secaucus New Jersey...

fuck,. it was so bad

it was like someone dosed wes anderson with barney the Dinosaur barbiturates and FUCK I am getting so MAD thinking about it.

pantophobia 02.25.2008 02:44 PM

last movies watch were:

Hard Candy - Ellen Page was just excellent there
Fargo - amazingly i think NCFOM was better
Eraserhead - shall rewatch
The Band that Would be King - brilliant

I liked it. And it was cool that it had a Test Dept track in the soundtrack.

I really enjoyed Cloverfield - especially the nasty spidery creature thingys.

Anyone else here seen 'Bad Boy Bubby'?
I saw it a few years back and it's fucking mental!

Torn Curtain 02.26.2008 11:09 AM

Very disappointing. Lacks a real scenario and some scenes are much too long and complacent. Some very good acting though, expecially from the young girl (but that doesn't save the film).

it's not a bad movie, but some points in the narrations lacked something... And it also has Franco Battiato (great italian pop-avantgarde singer/songwriter) in the soundtrack (with the ruby tuesday cover).

2 Days in Paris-An enjoyable movie, Julie Delpy is beautiful.

In Bruges- Eh, ok. I hated Collin Ferrell's character. But an okay movie.

nicfit 02.27.2008 09:20 AM

There will be blood.
EXCELLENT.
the scene with the oil on fire rivals with the similar scene in Jarhead (both amazing photography).
DDL is so fuckin' great.

The Darjeeling Limited.
As "usual", great cinematography/sets, Brody's performance was great. Overall a nice movie to watch if you like "that kind" of movies. As in : Wes Anderson movies. Kinda less funny/interesting than some of his previous outputs, but still nice. A couple of great scenes in it. I can't express myself properly.

Aye, I like it, it loses its way a bit about 2/3 through but a very entertaining dark comedy over all.

Last film I watched was Altered States, I quite enjoyed it up until the last session in the floatation tank which just left me wondering what the fuck was happening afterwards.

fugazifan 02.29.2008 09:57 AM

i saw across the universe
it was not an unenjoyable watch but the movie itself and its concept were bleh
