For insurance purposes, everyone should be.

That's why when I get round to doing my list I'll back it up onto disk.

Savage Clone 07.28.2006 08:04 AM

That's the thing.
If I had a fire, I would have to make sure the info was stored elsewhere because my computer would probably burn too.

I have little to (in some cases) no organization & as a result am seemingly always wondering if I have something or not when it comes to bootleg downloads.

I can usually find things fairly quickly though because I generally have a handle on where everything is, but sometimes it gets tough with Sonic Youth especially, because there are stacks & stacks & also a few spindles worth that I haven't even made cases for & so forth.

& that constant process of making cases & such always seems to keep me from getting to the task of documenting everything.

It was pleasant to read that I'm in the same boat on this as mostly everyone else heh.

lps I have in alphabetical order, but I think I may have to sell them all off soon.

interesting. I have most of mine catalogued there, too. It's pretty convenient. But the trouble there, I've found, is there's no good way to keep track when you've got more than one copy, a copy on vinyl and cd, extras on colored vinyl, etc.

I was thinking about insuring my cd collection. I'll do it when I move out. A list will be made there and then.

soniknirve 07.28.2006 11:37 AM

bowie, cash, coltrane, lennon, o'rourke: are these artists filed by their first or last names?

h8kurdt 07.28.2006 11:38 AM

Last

soniknirve 07.28.2006 11:41 AM

k thx. i'm gonna try to do this when i get some free time...

k-krack 07.28.2006 11:52 AM

i do make a lsit on paper every couple of months, and i try to update it, but its too hard trying to keep it all in alphabetical/chronological when you have to write in new things every week...

golden child 07.28.2006 12:24 PM

i keep a list of bootlegs to, for trading purposes... i was just thinking this morning though, its not up to date so it looks like a got work to do.

Vexing.
I put it under Xasthur because I had other Xasthur stuff.

I'd just put it under which band I liked the best.

Not a chance with that particular album. It's an absolute blinder, and both sides complement each other beautifully. I need more Nortt. Nocturnal Poisoning is probably my favourite 'new' purchase of the last year or so.

golden child 07.28.2006 03:33 PM

put it under both

Savage Clone 07.28.2006 07:15 PM

Full concurrence with Glice re: the blinding awesomeness of that split LP.
