Cher's Do You Believe in Love after Love?
Her voice makes my skin crawl, and that song in particular does the trick..
That song literally makes me angry and upset... I hate every single thing about it.

Barry Manilow singing Coldplay covers. Makes me shudder just thinking of it!

Imagine your own personal Musical Hell.

what would be playing over the loudspeakers to torture you in the worst possible way?

easy-- i'd have my neighbors boombox. he plays a latin-pop hits station (yes, that is the radio... in 2008... who the fuck listens to the radio?)

that is torture.

but worst even-- a steady diet of "country" music played by people who affect twangs-- oh yeah--- that-- i'd kill myself over a million times a day.

It would be quite hellish if I was forced to listen to something I love, over and over again, until I got sick of it. I think that's what I did with the Ramones - I overplayed them, and now I never feel like listening to them.

Anyway:
Nickelback
Generic death metal
Country-pop
The Eagles
Sham 69

Sonic Youth 37 10.10.2008 06:24 PM

Lynyrd Skynyrd or any of the new Southern-Rock revival bands.
The Who
AC/DC

terriblecanyons 10.10.2008 06:28 PM

AC/DC
Nickelback
Kid Rock
The Eagle's Hotel California over and over and over again
Also Green Grass and High Tides by whatever stupid band does that

akprodr 10.10.2008 08:06 PM

Really? Hotel Califtornia is that bad? Of course, I only listen to it for Joe Walsh.

And Phil Collins is a great drummer--ya gotta go way back to early Genesis or Brand X bit he really kicks.

I'm glad somebody said Barry Manilow. I almost killed myself when I got one of his fucking sacaccharine songs stuck in my head.Celine Dion comes real close.

OK, breaks's over--back on your heads!

davenotdead 10.10.2008 08:40 PM

springsteen, aerosmith, eagles, rap/cuntry radio, eminem

I was referring more to his solo stuff and later Genesis. I wouldn't deny his worthiness in Gabriel-era Genesis and Brand X.
