Cool. I'm writing the customs label now.

Пятхъдесят Шест 07.24.2007 02:11 PM

I detest customs labels!

They take an eternity to fill out, especially when you've got four or five to fill out. They also make you wait in line to get the customs label, then they make you get out of line to fill them out, only to wait in another (excruciating long) line.

Hip Priest 07.24.2007 02:13 PM

I just get the nice people at our post office to give me a roll of them.

Ours only take a few seconds to fill out.

They're easy from the UK. Just tick 'Gift' and NCV in the value part.

If only!

We have to fill out our address, and the recipients address. Two dated signatures, and a stamp.

I like to write extra big. I am still a child.

Ours looks basically the same, though its green, and has a perforated center, and the other side has the box for the addresses.

Here it is:

Danny Himself 07.24.2007 02:21 PM

Doesn't the green part tear off?

Hip Priest 07.24.2007 02:22 PM

Some post offices are really nice, aren't they?

The only problem I ever have is when I'm sending things to Canada, because it seems that the Canadian authorities are very exact about where to place the customs label. I can never remember the rule.

Пятхъдесят Шест 07.24.2007 02:25 PM

Danny, the white part does. I'm writing in hurry, this is why my signature is so sloppy when you receive the package.

Our postal workers seem to be moody most of the time, and one of them always comments on the package going to Ireland.

sonicl 07.24.2007 02:27 PM

Due to a non-technical issue, I'm not ready to send my tape yet. The non-technical issue being that I haven't started recording it :(

Пятхъдесят Шест 07.24.2007 02:28 PM

Fret not, Sonicl. I've not started mine either. Though it won't take long, I've got the songs picked out. Just need to record.

I use two post offices regularly. One in my home town, and the one in my work town.

The one in my home town is great. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

I visit the post office in the town where I work only if I really have to. They are the total opposite. It's like pulling teeth, getting information out of them.

And on one occasion, I went in with about 10 parcels to post, and when I got to the counter noticed that one of my parcels had started to come undone. I asked for a bit of sellotape andI was told I'd have to buy some from the PO shop and then re-queue.

As you can tell, this incident has stayed with me:( .

Tiny and old picture of the South Omaha post office. It looks much the same now.

The one in Oxton village where I work is lovely, the central Birkenhead one is a nightmare. I live closer to the Oxton one too, so there's never any need to go to the other place. In fact, the nasty one is one of those being moved to inside WH Smiths (!?) soon.

Danny Himself 07.24.2007 02:42 PM

There's a post office across the street from my mothers apartment which is where I live right now, so mail is easy for me. I also live near a sorting office.

Pookie 07.24.2007 02:45 PM

I'm supposed to be laying a floor in our dining room this evening, but I'm calling it a day. I think I'll start my tape instead.

I've lost the list of mix tapes I made for previous rounds, so I hope mine doesn't go to somebody who's already had one from me, because there may be some repetition.

Hip Priest 07.25.2007 11:47 AM

I posted my round ten mixtape this morning.
