I've gotten the same way. I can listen to certain songs on a whim, but not whole albums. The mood just has to hit me and when it does, it takes a specific album. I think I going to forgo the sonic and go with Is This It because I've been feeling the need for the Strokes for the past week and it'll clear the Grime from my system.

schizophrenicroom 08.30.2008 11:49 PM

yeah, i can only listen to whole albums if i really feel the mood strikes. but last night i put on evol because it was closest to my reach and i just felt annoyed.

i listened to is it it when i went for a run today. i have so many good memories attatched, i was smiling like a goon for the whole run.

Sonic Youth 37 08.30.2008 11:53 PM

I've felt drawn to listening to NYC Ghosts for a few weeks, but I know when I put it on I won't want to sit through it. It'll have to be a right night before I can listen to it.

I feel like I got rickrol'd. My friend sent me a youtube video of Chinchillas mating on facebook chat. :(

schizophrenicroom 08.30.2008 11:56 PM

i was just thinking about that album today. i haven't listened to anything off it in probably a year and a half.

chinchillas?! my friend emailed me a video of a fangirl crying over that damned twilight movie. not as gross as chinchillas, but this girl comes pretty close. b,ack lipstifck doesn't belong on anyone.

Sonic Youth 37 08.30.2008 11:58 PM

Yes, Chinchillas. He's sent me like 30 videos in a row, half of them Chinchilla related.

schizophrenicroom 08.31.2008 12:00 AM

does he own a chinchilla or ie he just that insterested?

Sonic Youth 37 08.31.2008 12:02 AM

He talks non-stop about getting one. He lives alone in his apartment and wants a chinchilla but hasn't bought one because A) he's afraid it'll chew through stuff and B) that it will die.

schizophrenicroom 08.31.2008 12:04 AM

haha, that's just so weird. couldn't he just buy a chinchilla chew toy and i don't know, feed it or something?

i used to be friends with a girl that owned ferrets and i couldn't fathom why she'd keep them. one of them crawled up me and tried to crawl down my hoodie and i flipped out. any non- dog or cat housepets freak me out because of that experience.

Sonic Youth 37 08.31.2008 12:06 AM

I have no idea. You'd think feeding something and keeping it in a cage wouldn't be difficult.

Ferrets smell. End of story.

schizophrenicroom 08.31.2008 12:08 AM

well, sometimes i don't know- my parents are responsible for forgetting to take care of my hamster ten years ago and letting it die in the garage. i can't let that go. it's a hamster. they failed.

i had to throw out that hoodie because no matter what strength or scent of detergent i used, it smelled like ferret.

Sonic Youth 37 08.31.2008 12:17 AM

Well, he's got a two-bedroom apartment and is there 95% of the time. He'd be staring at the cage most of the time.

schizophrenicroom 08.31.2008 12:18 AM

if he got a male and a female, it'd be perfect!

speaking of perfect, switching to wine after a string of fruity drinks tastes so good. nice and crisp.

Sonic Youth 37 08.31.2008 12:22 AM

Last thing I had was a god-awful concoction of orange juice, pineapple juice, oranges, and Everclear termed "Hunch punch". It tasted horrible and after a cup and a half, I had trouble walking.

schizophrenicroom 08.31.2008 12:25 AM

wow, that's amazing. too fruity for me. before the wine i had orange/strawberry/banana juice divided into a bottle of curacao. it would taste really good until the last little bit of the glass where it was bitter. i prefer wine.

it's raining out! i'm praying gustav doesn't hit louisiana- all the footage of katrina still makes me cry. if it just turns around this way and eventually dies out in the atlantic, that'd be all right. but all of florida could drown and i'd be cool with that.

Sonic Youth 37 08.31.2008 12:28 AM

It wouldn't have been as bad if it hadn't been like a 2:1 ratio of juice to Everclear. It was like gasoline with a Kool-Aid pack added.
Oh well, I won't have to worry about it again until next week.

pantophobia 08.31.2008 12:30 AM

when it comes to mixing drinks, definitely read recipes of what mixes well before experimenting, i have kept it simple most of the summer

for me it's been electric blue lemonade most nights, blue curacao, vodka and lemonade - very refreshing

oh, yikes. my curacao and fruit juice go well that i'm obviously drunk after five cups, but i'm not stumbling.

panto- yum. i've cut back on the booze for a few reasons, but when i do indulge, because i'm easily confused i try and keep it simple. that sounds so delicious.

I wasn't either, then I realized I'd finished my cup sitting down and then I stood up.
