I'm stranded in town due to car troubles and every time I try to finish this book I'm reading in my room, I fall asleep. So, now, I'm rewatching the 2nd season of Dexter

Haha EWWWWWWW

joe11121 04.12.2009 02:02 PM

Ha ha. Tell me about it. All she listens to is shitty rock and new popular music.

automatic bzooty 04.12.2009 03:39 PM

u2 and oasis adhere to the requirements of this thread, as they both are completely irrelevant.

You just described 99% of teenagers.

Actually all the friends I have with good music taste were the result of me getting them into things.

automatic bzooty 04.12.2009 04:33 PM

^ Yeah, same here! Though it's not so much me getting them into things (that never seems to work) - it's them looking at my Facebook music list...

"Hey, Anna, I got on limewire and downloaded stuff by every band you said you liked on FB... I really liked this, this, and this. Everything else sucked. Well, I'm off to listen to Paramore or something, laterz."

Sonic Youth 37 04.12.2009 04:36 PM

Back in the days of Myspace, I had a "friend" of mine copy/pasted my entire music list to his page, knowing full-well that he didn't know 1/10th of those bands. And then he'd badger me to give him the music because "he already liked them"

Maybe they were in love with you.

Sonic Youth 37 04.12.2009 06:12 PM

Nah, he really wanted to be me, as in wanted my life. Bastard went after my girlfriend at the time too. Still feel like I should have caved his face in.

Derek 04.12.2009 06:13 PM

Oh, well he probably just had low self-esteem.

Maybe he just needed a hug? :(

Sonic Youth 37 04.12.2009 06:24 PM

Nah, he was a just son of a bitch. Recently he abandoned his 4 month old and the mother and hitchhiked to the beach with nothing but a guitar for about 3 weeks

Derek 04.12.2009 06:29 PM

Ah, well fuck him then haha.

atsonicpark 04.12.2009 06:33 PM

I am enjoying the sounds of minimalist music. I like the idea that at any given time the sounds could completely disappear and leave only the silence of the room. Extremely interesting stuff. On the other hand, at this exact time last year, I was seeking out the most extreme, technical, over-the-top music ever. I wonder what I will be seeking out this time next year. (maybe I'll be dead)

atsonicpark 04.12.2009 06:34 PM

I highly reccomend Tetuzi Akiyama and Gunter Muller - Points and Slashes. This is some of the weirdest, best "minimalist" music ever.

shitload of AWESOME mediafire linked albums. You gotta change the "xx" to "tt" on the links obviously.

Derek 04.12.2009 07:02 PM

And from a Flaming Lips forum! Thanks for that.

Derek 04.12.2009 07:04 PM

Get the Juana Molina album and the {{{Sunset}}} album

atsonicpark 04.12.2009 07:42 PM

the sunset link is dead actually. Only one that's been dead after going to 20 links! Maybe because it's a megaupload link and not a mediafire one..

atsonicpark 04.12.2009 07:43 PM

Gettin the Juana though.

uploaded and downloaded a few things from that thread, too

atsonicpark 04.12.2009 08:13 PM

Could you care For the blind
Tell me all In all they're just your kind of zeros
something for the weekend
If you think that you can spell
Make a list of the cunts you'd send to hell and send them
Send them on the Weekend

Echo Echo, I know it's a sin to kiss & swallow,
Echo Echo, a kick in the head to kill the hollow

floatingslowly 04.14.2009 01:32 AM

Wow, that's kind of cool! I like the shoegazy style in their song "Dead Sound"

Excellent. One of my fav songs is 'Ally Walk With Me' - Listen to it! Sharin Foo is one of the hottest women in rock right now. And Sune Rose Wagner is freaky awesome.
