now, after this long "please, simply entertaining movies" phase, I'll probably go for something more "deep"...dunno what yet.

Even if it is "deep," in the end, can't it even be chocked up to "simply entertaining?"

pokkeherrie 02.04.2008 09:47 AM

Swedish movie, very entertaining in a Pippi Longstockings meets George A. Romero kind of way... whatever that means.

It can, but it's a combination quite difficult to obtain.
Any suggestions on movies that can actually satisfy those requirements would be much appreciated (maybe via pm, since this is not a proper "suggestions' thread".

I got about 45 minutes in DONNIE DARKO and I had to turn it off. Jesus fucking christ, what a waste of time, what completely one dimensional characters. what TRIPE!
I was told there'd be physics in this movie!

physics? more like psychics.

i am sorry man.

i liked that movie ok but it wasn't the mind blowing thing some people made it to be. there's like multiple cut/releases too. what the fuck.

instead of wasting your time with pretentious hip tripe give the last movie i posted a try-- the male lead says: "it is my fate to be attracted to hysterical women". ha ha ha ha. you will relate. eva henning = crazy chick.

there will be psychology in that movie!

also: sex

also: lesbians

Yeah, that movie blows. I don't understand why so many people slurp it.

Everyneurotic 02.05.2008 01:04 PM

last i saw...

hmmm....

i think it was black sheep, "i think you should vote...because...voting kicks ass!!!!"

before that, i think it was the red dragon, better than hannibal rising, good acting, good plot (but kinda derivative from silence of the lambs, as far as i can tell), the ending is stupid hollywood plap, though.

and no, i still haven't watched my battle royale dvd yet!

davenotdead 02.05.2008 01:50 PM

I don't get the "Suitable Only For Adults" thing, but it was a different time.

Great movie, classic.

another brilliant, beautiful and depressing story of impaired love by kar-wai wong-- does he ever make a different type of movie? anyway, his choice of women is always in impeccable taste-- maggie cheung, what a feast for the eyes. and great cinematography

LifeDistortion 02.08.2008 04:02 PM

There Will be Blood. It was the best movie I've seen in quite a while. If this doesn't sweep the academy awards I'll be pissed.

Don't you have anything better to do than to follow me around here?

Anyway, I liked it.

gmku 02.10.2008 10:37 AM

Untraceable. At the cineplex. Dumb and thrilling. Pretty fun, in other words. The popcorn was terrible though. Diane Lane was pretty good, but the Mary Beth Hurt character was superfluous. That's one actress who, after such a promising start with Garp, amounted to not very much, it seems to me.
