the short answer is that they sound like d.r.i. from around the thrashzone era, only way better and 10 times as fun.

dirty rotten imbeciles, houston band from the early 80's, prototypical of the hardcore punk/thrash metal crossover (along with corrosion of conformity and suicidal tendencies, among others).

i'm going to listen to the p.e. band you mentioned in the other thread, smelly.

after listening to oxxxes, it's time for the journey to jerusalem:

Thee Stooges "Raw Power" - despite the fact I'm listening to the "remix" version (which is nowhere near as good as the original release), the songs still shine like a pearl in a trawler full of swine-poo.

stu666 06.05.2008 04:59 PM

Sunburned Hand Of The Man - wild animal

I really can't listen to the original.

MellySingsDoom 06.05.2008 05:04 PM

Really? You have to say, though, that the photos on the original are peerless (taken at the Scala, too!)

Cantankerous 06.05.2008 05:17 PM

oasis - champagne supernova

this song is so great. but fuck everything else they've done.
liam is well sexy though

demonrail666 06.05.2008 05:21 PM

I've spoken to the guy who took them (Mick Rock) -a very nice guy, quite camp in his own way, but a genuine legend. He knoweth plenty about I Pop, Bowie, L Reed etc. He spends much of his time these days in NY/LA/Tokyo. Lucky guy - me most jealous!

demonrail666 06.05.2008 05:28 PM

The Barrett pics he took are wonderful.

demonrail666 06.05.2008 05:32 PM
