I always keep an eye out for the CD, but I've never seen it for sale anywhere.

I ordered the cd Breasticles, from Kristeen Young's official site the other day.

Aww :/ I love it because of the jazz- and funk parts in some of the songs. Do Nothing/Bitchslap is a (imo) masterpiece. The way Slipknot experiments with jazz, funk and metal is lovley. By the way, bought some new records yesterday. Cult of Luna - Salvation Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (Deluxe 30th anniversary Ed. Incl poster.... yeah i know, reissue) |
my point exactly, they were like "let's be faith no more/mr bungle!!" i don't know, not my bag really. i remember back when the first album was released and everyone was like "there's an album before this one that is better and you can't get anywhere!!!", then a friend downloaded it on napster and we listened to it and looked at each other and went "it's good we didn't have to buy it".

The new Yo La Tengo. It's pretty awesome. More pop sounding than I expected, but very infectious. A lot of fun.

See what i mean?

No, sorry... what do you mean...??

![]() I've no idea what it's like, but I liked the reviews that I read. Example: The Black Angels are what you get when you meld the Brian Jonestown Massacre's psychedelia with the Jesus and Mary Chain's wall of sound from their early days. That alone should tell you if the album is for you. The music is great. The lyrics try too hard to be deep, meaningful and bleak at the same time. They're not bad but they do show a lack of subtly. Still, even with that this album easily blows away anything I've heard this year. |
Great cover up there. What's the band like?Never heard of them.
|
Dunno. I'll tell you when it arrives.
|
Wow. Sounds like something I'd like.
Of course, I bought Serena-Maneesh based on reviews that made comparisons to MBV and Sonic Youth. I loved it at first but it's paled. More and more when I read these kind of "this sounds like this, so you'll like it" reviews, I go, yah but there's really only the original JAMC or MBV or SY. How can another band measure up and still sound like something better than an imitation? |
i've learned to stay away from anything that says "sounds like my bloody valentine, jesus and mary chain..."
the only good band with that description i've heard lately is giant drag. |
