Opium Stadium is just me fucking around at one of the local shows that used to happen once or twice every 3 months. OH WELL, is the only one that not only has a drum kit, but that song was totally made up right then and there. my tape recorder was on the stage. the echo is the hall. sounds kinda neat. LIVE WET SHOE SYNDROME is the entire show, as the other ones are just songs within the recording

D.O.T. show was pretty much a failure. its not the greatest, but it's there anyways. it's also been edited from a S-VHS audio only feed from the mixing board that i was no longer in charge of at that point. i'm the drunk guy who wont shut up.

A Date With A Date With Judy is the oldest live show i got of that line up of the band. once again. 3 songs made up on the spot. Chinese Eyes / Ugly People / Dean. recorded to cassette from the back of the hall.

TOP 20 IN 46 MINUTES is the compilation idea i have been working on. not every band i was in (or line up at the time of whatever recording) is not all in that compilation. at some point i will get around to finishing off side 2 of the C-90 Cassette Compilation (setlist is including in that link)

Get OFF! and test it for yourselves, is just a sample of an OFF! concert i recorded in toronto this year. it can be found over here

Apologies for the inevitable imperfections in live performance.

The very fey goth-folk project I do with Gerard (also the bassist in Thunderbolt Pagoda with me), The Quaking Bogge, did a show this past weekend at Vine Arts in Minneapolis. Julie Johnson joined us on flute.
Here is one of the two medieval pieces we did during the set.

I just found out that some shakers I shook months ago ended up on something, a depressing song called "Watching People Fuck."

yeah that's boyfriend material but we really haven't been doing much. we're both working on other stuff right now. I've been mostly playing with my other bands Echols and Poor People. Matt the other guy doing that with me is in a band called Giggle Giver and that's sort of his main thing.

this is him and ian. Ian plays bass for poor people.

So far the singer has been compared to D. Boon, Bob Mould, Jello Biafra & Roger Miller, and now to Pete Townshend. :)

No sir - I live along the Gulf Coast of Texas 30 minutes from the Louisiana border in Beaumont. Years ago we had a Po Folk's restaurant here and we usually ate their on Sundays after church sometime.

As a kid, I had one of their bumper stickers on my wall: "I May Be Po, But I'm Proud."

calroot 07.03.2013 10:28 AM

Band it may be

Instrument: does sample processor count?

I joined this forum a few years ago to share a Sonic Youth remix project I did under the name Calamus Root Magician. I'm glad I could get it out to the sort of people who could appreciate it via this site.

Recently, I reconnected with this weird little dude who emcees/raps about Shakespeare and stuff. We did a rap project called Ankylosaurus Rex. It's dope, and probably the last thing I'll ever do, as I my transformation into a question-mark-shaped whisp of smoke is imminent.

Check it out if you're into it. Link is maybe embedded, maybe not. either way: www.calamusrootmagician.com.

Thanks.

I have formed a band with my flatmates and some of the ones who have moved out. Influences revolve around our culinary habits, rather than musical, because we only practise on the top floor of the flat in the living room just outside the kitchen, so if someone is making chicken paratha rolls, that will end up influencing the music we play in the living room. I can't think of another name for what we do other than flat rock. We are an interracial band ( Italian, Indian, Spanish and Serbian). We don't do Soundcloud etc. We prefer to get high on food and cheap Irish whiskey. We also get up for work the next day and manage having no queues outside the bathroom.

You talking about the Po Boy place near Main street and shit? If you are , you have brought up some serious food memories for me Mr. Peltor!
In fact, one of my best friends was visiting from Philly last week and we talked about how awesome the poboys were there.

My faves were the roast beef poboy, the fried ham and egg po-boy, and they had a cheeseburger po boy which was fucking awesome. and the fries were good with roast beef gravy. I miss that place,
