Goodness! I didnt know it was so short! Haha, what a racist, sexist bastard though. It's pretty funny, pulpy and horrific at the same time. Thanks a lot for that link, treasure. I started watching a bunch of interviews after the one you linked. I want to go to his writing camp! I dont write, but what fun.

alteredcourse 03.27.2010 04:32 PM

I picked up the dragon age expansion....it's..okay. It's just like a big side quest to the original, not adding any new substance or plot. It's fun though for anyone who wants to live in that universe just a bit longer.

Actually, I was hoping there would be more Alistair romancing. After I finished Origins, I actually had a break-up heartache.

Movin' on to Mass Effect soon, I'm on a Bioware roll.

shabbray2.0 03.28.2010 06:01 PM

baught it but havent played it yet. I am expecting instant flashbacks to the original (the best and only good game of the series) + kickass movements and a chilling atmsophere with pimped up graphics, not that it bothers me that much, but I think tomb raider is definately a game that can make good use of more graphic power, like survival horror games do

shabbray2.0 03.29.2010 06:24 AM

is SMT:3 Nocturne really that great?
I could get a new version for around 75$ but WITHOUT the OST.
is it worth it, or just a "good" rpg?

I found it to be a very atmospheric, highly original rpg unlike any other rpg I ever played. The beauty of SMT games are they break many jrpg traditions, save for random encounters and elemental attacks. :)

shabbray2.0 03.29.2010 07:20 AM

ok. atmosphere is maybe the most important part for me when it comes to story driven games, so this is a MUST purchase, thank you
I wonder if DDS cuts into the same vein?
Nocturne seem to be the holy grail, what are the major differences that make this game stand out?

noisereductions 03.29.2010 08:32 AM

I beat Phantasy Star (the original) last week. What a f'ing amazing RPG. So so so ahead of it's time. Mind blowing. It's contemporaries were Final Fantasy (by a few days) and Dragon Warrior. And it was waaaaaaay more complex. Had PS been released on NES, everyone would have played it and it would problem have a FF-level of fame to this day. Crazy good.

shabbray2.0 03.29.2010 08:40 AM

still got the phantasy star collection for the gba flying around. if I remmeber correctly it features part I, II and III.
you should play it mobile after I finished devil survivor (still what a fucking great game)

noisereductions 03.29.2010 10:55 AM

al, the GBA Phantasy Star collection is exactly how I played it. And yes, it also features II and III. It's a great compilation that can be found cheap.

shabbray2.0 03.29.2010 12:28 PM

yes, I got it. but havent played it yet. will do soon!!!!

automatic bzooty 04.02.2010 01:57 AM

shabbray2.0 04.04.2010 07:39 PM

EVOLghost 04.11.2010 08:54 PM

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Finally finished Final Fantasy Tactics after taking a break anf playing MGS4....now I'm gonna start FF8. I'm wondering what game I should buy next off of PSN...

EVOLghost 04.11.2010 09:15 PM

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

http://kotaku.com/5499449/ceo-well-e...asy-vii-remake

I will only absolutely love this remake if everything was exactly the same just in like HD graphics n shit. maybe change the battle system a bit...but I dunno.,

Dr. Eugene Felikson 04.12.2010 03:24 AM

Just as perfect as I remember it being.

Keeping It Simple 04.12.2010 06:57 AM

I'm playing Bioshock 2. It's definitely an improvement over the first one.

shabbray2.0 04.12.2010 06:59 AM

great so far!!

noisereductions 04.12.2010 07:08 AM

^I still gotta get that one!

shabbray2.0 04.12.2010 07:21 AM

same for me, for a long time. snatched it in berlin for 10 bucks, and it awesome. always wanted to free the original nes metroid on my prime version via the gba save

noisereductions 04.12.2010 07:59 AM

oh yeah, I forgot about that. I hate Prime though. I really could NOT get into it at all. Anyway, I have the NES version via the NES Classic Series GBA release.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 04.13.2010 12:25 PM

I have Metroid Fusion. My girlfriend found it on the sidewalk or something.

I plan on giving Metroid Prime another go, soon enough. GameStop is selling the original at merely $2.99 a pop, after all. Today may be the day to add both MP, and Viewtiful Joe back into my GC collection. They're both the same price.

noisereductions 04.13.2010 12:40 PM

yeah I bought both of those for $3 each. I didn't like either. I think Prime sucks ass. Viewtiful Joe LOOKS amazing. And it's a great idea. But I just didn't like the controls personally.

Sonic Youth 37 04.13.2010 02:42 PM

deflinus 04.13.2010 02:53 PM

^ sickkk

i have to get that game

Sonic Youth 37 04.13.2010 02:59 PM

I'm only slightly into it right now. I reneted it right after I got my Wii but didn't play it much. I actually like the Gamecube version better because I don't have to flail around like a goon.

!@#$%! 04.13.2010 03:02 PM

starts very interesting, but then gets monotonous

civilization still takes the came for greatest strategy game ever (besides chess?)

civ V coming out in the fall! better schedule some downtime in advance.

shabbray2.0 04.13.2010 03:32 PM

I really dug prime.
its A LIL BIT too colorful. a darker setting would be fitting even better. but I liked the overall chilling mood.

for vietiful joe i tend to think the same as noise recuctions. great idea, great style but the controls are kinda annoying. havent finished that game, I think Ive played 2 years ago or something.

btw is the gameboy advanced player for the GC worth it? I imagine it to be pretty nice playing GBA titles on the tv, or does the resolution suck?

Toilet & Bowels 04.13.2010 06:08 PM

the first metroid prime is great you just need to give it a few hours, the second one i couldn't get into

fair enough, it's not as good as the SNES one anyway.

EVOLghost 04.13.2010 09:28 PM

downloading roms...now. Any suggestions? old school rpgs. I never properly owned a snes.

shabbray2.0 04.14.2010 08:17 AM

SD Snatcher on blue msx
there is an english translation
GREAT one

and of course snatcher for the sega cd!!!

noisereductions 04.14.2010 08:18 AM

al, are you actually playing it on an MSX? If so, that's awesome!!

(the MSX version has more blood and nudity)

shabbray2.0 04.14.2010 08:25 AM

unfortunately not.
I played with the thought of buying a cheap msx unit plus the japanese version of SD snatcher. but making business with private japanese people is pretty hard. for example its almost impossible to buysomething from jap amazon without being actually a japanese. tried it pretty hard when I was after a copy of "the silver case" & "flower sun and rain" (before FSR was converted for the DS)
so Ive decided to emulate that one and keep my original snatcher copy as my holy grail :)
even though I love to play games on their original systems, its just: different, like playing vinyl instead of mp3s (please no fundamental discussion about that topic again, hahaha)

noisereductions 04.14.2010 08:26 AM

what is SD Snatcher, as opposed to just Snatcher?

shabbray2.0 04.14.2010 08:29 AM

(edited my post before)

its a standalone game, where the graphics are kinda like on Mother (earthbound for the western world) everything is more cute.
it was intednded as a parody on the original but delivers some background information on the original one. its more lightheartet but definately worth playing. the fanmade translation is pretty good too. (it came out only on the jap market after snatcher)
give it a shot!!!! if you liked snatcher its really fun plus a good story
btw my avatar is from "snatcher" haahha

ingame:

nonetheless its still violent

to come back to the different snatcher versions:
the mcd version is stil my favourite, not just because I own it. I loooove the soundtrack and it definately sounds best on that one.
the game is is still pretty gory and the "sex tape" situation is still funny, hahaha
