ghana is tuff, coordinated, fast, and strategic, the only problem they had was they had to play brazil. I am of course rooting for USA but honestly, Ghana? We'd be lucky to draw. If Ghana advances I would not be upset either, after all they are Africa's last hope, and in the third round Africa had been almost as rare as the US, so its a true battle of the underdogs, and my loyalties are to may the best team win. |
Keisuke Honda is awesome. Until January he played for VVV Venlo, a team that only got promoted to the highest Dutch division last September. Then in the January transfer window he was sold to CSKA Moscow for around 8 million euros, which is more than VVV Venlo's entire annual estimate/budget! So much for the good old saying that "no player is bigger than the club".
--- One semi-finalist will come out of Uruguay, South Korea, USA and Ghana. Whoever it will be seems likely to become this tournament's surprise team. --- It's not going to be Europe's World Cup. There will only be beteen 4 and 7 European times at the last 16, compared to 10 at the previous world cup. If Chile qualifies, there will be 7 teams from the Americas! (theoretically speaking, even Honduras could still make it 8) |
so far, as expected, a ugly boring game.
brazil dominating, queiroz "inventing". duda and ricardo costa? pepe? fml. |

makes sense for portugal to play counterattack, they only need a draw. their counterattacks haven't created real danger-- yet. brazil has had better opportunities, but so far, nothing. idiots getting too many yellow cards for a game that should be a bureaucratic transaction. ivory coast will want to to score 20 goals. |
well, it just got dangerous now. ronaldo/ meireles almost made brazil shit. putting in simão is a sign portugal is losing their initial caution & wants to attack more.
|
can't believe i took an afternoon off work for this shit
|
lol
what were you expecting? |

see i told you.

chile needs to ease the fuck down with the fouls. they just got 2 people suspended for their next game. if they get an expulsion in this game they'll be fucked.
|
mierda.
|
oh man, chile is fucked.
|
chile is fucked. espana will be droppin 2 more goals before this is through
|
that first goal was insane. was that trhe keeper's fault for coming out so far?????

not necessarily, but he could have stopped the ball, or kick it out-- he had a defense player near, after all. why give it to villa? fucked up. i'm more worried about the expulsion than the goals. |
Yeah, Chile's lack of discipline has well and truly fucked them - both for this match and their next one. Spain aren't even playing all that well. Besides the two goals they haven't shown all that much. Torres is clearly unfit and (apart from his goal) David Villa is isolated out on the left.
Against a clearly demoralised ten man Chile, though, I'd be surprised if Spain don't start turning it on in the second half. |

i don't know if they're demoralized, the little fuckers keep attacking. GOOOOOL MOHTERFUKEEERRRRRSSSSSSSS!!!! --- edit: this happened as i finished typing the first line. fucking awesome! |
goaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal

Yeah, I think that's what you call speaking too soon. lol
Either way, Fabregas looks way too young for that beard. |
