I'm kind of shocked they did "Sandwitches." That's awesome.
|
I loved seeing Mos Def at the end.

u guys obviously don't watch The Boondocks, there was a whole episode about that. a good one too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBp_BwNX6gE |
and although i like odd future, the "sandwitches" performance just some like juvenille and slightly weaker version of gravediggaz.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwJmEvLXvq8 i love this song |
tyler said he doesn't even listen to gravediggaz so i dunno
|
i think they sound more like a juvenile and weaker version of ganksta n.i.p. than gravediggaz
|
i don't think they sound like a juvenile, weaker version of anyone

They make juvenile look harder than the most mature of rap groups. I'm so happy about their response on Fallon. These kids are about to make it huge after self-releasing everything for only a year or two. Golf wang. |
that Fallon performance was so incredible man. I watched it several times in a row. Just astounding. The intensity level is unreal. And when Tyler jumps on Jimmy's back, there's a smile that's just real. I mean like you know he was proud of himself.
|
I keep seeing random people online getting into them after 'Yonkers' and even some people in my school are now getting into them. Fucking weird man.
|
On the negative side, I've self-released most of my music for the past year and no one's gave a shit. FUCK OFWGKTA.
Maybe I should just become a rapper, I dunno. |
if u did I'd listen.
|
not.

as long as it's on a UUUUUU release |
Okay, so I heard their performance on Jimmy Fallon and liked it. What should I download to start with?
|
Bastard, EARL or Rolling Papers.
|
EARL, Bastard and only after that Radical.

Rome wasn't built in a day, my friend. I've been self-releasing my music (though labels have put it out too) for 13 years, and only in the past year or two did anyone seem to give a shit. There's just SO MUCH stuff out there, that I think it's very difficult for people to keep up with all of it... I was lucky to start making music right as mp3's were starting to get popular. Now every other drone project is net-releasing than 10-hour albums, for example. I've been lucky to meet lots of superfriendly people via last.fm, and the ones that truely care, are superdevoted to everything I do. I'd take 2 or 3 superfans over 1000 "last.fm listeners" you know what I mean? You already have a hardcore fan in me, so just get a couple more superfans and you'll be a champion. |
Also, is it just me, or is GRAVEDIGGAZ - 6 FEET DEEP the best rap album of all time?...
|

it's a fantastic album. Certainly in my, say Top 50 rap albums of all time. But number one? Nope. |
Thanks buddy, I was being a bit facetious (obviously a rap group are going to get more recognition than drone music) but you're right. As long as at least one person is getting something out of it then there's meaning in continuing music.
Now, what to do with the 90 minutes of music I've recorded so far for the new record? 2 albums perhaps? |
Fuck that, do some more, make it a triple cd!
|
"The Astral Travels 2, 3 + 4: SO VERY TIRED"
|
haha
just do a uuuuuuuubox |
How far are they away from a adult swim mixtape...
|
derek do a 6 cd set, one for each letter in your name
"disc 1: u" "disc 2: u" etc but you know, when you put them all side by side it spells your name!! |
tyler the creator's tweets are fantastic. his rhymes are too.

I want a pack of real banjee fags to corner him in an alley.

I want him to make more songs.

Some dude (not from this forum) posted the Yonkers video on Facebook yesterday. That video has so many views on Youtube - it's sick. I'm very interested in seeing how big these guys make it.

NATAS - Doubelievengod is my personal favorite. ![]() Six Feet Deep is pretty good though, it's up there for sure. ASP have you ever listened to early Three Six Mafia at all? Back when they were The Triple Six Mafia? That whole crew used to be so sick. Koopsta Knicca and Lord Infamous being my personal favorites. Sadly, they were among the first to leave the group. Mystic Stylez is my 2nd favorite hip-hop album of all time. It came out right after the name change, and it's absolutely brilliant. ![]() That's why I like these Odd Future guys. Not only do they have sick flows, and phat beats, but they capitalize on the shock factor that makes hip-hop so fun in the first place. Something with balls. Big balls. Plus the production is fucking slick! |
Yeah, Mystic Stylez is great.
|
yup Mystic Stylez rules. Triple Six was sooo differnt than Three 6. But it's all good.
|
apparently OF was on MTV the other day. I didn't get to catch it. Anyone see it? Is there a vid up somewhere yet? Wasn't on OF.com or youtube yet. Though OF's site had a trailer of sorts, I'd really like to see the whole thing.
|
The 'trailer' was the whole thing.
