One of the reasons the original series was so great was because the actors were unknown or were well regarded Hollywood types but not household names, so that the story is what mattered, not that Eddie Vedder makes an appearance. This celebrity list makes me doubt. Amanda Seyfried is a pig, there are 100,000 pretty faces in Hollyweird, why would a nasty conceited hack like this get picked? |

Was discussing this cast list earlier this week. The one obvious omission on there being David Bowie, bet if he were alive and well he'd of made it.

^^ yeah, she kinda wack.
|
Anna Calvi would have been perfect.
![]() She looks like she came out of the Red Room and her music sounds like it's always been there. |

EWWWWW ... Real Estate is, like, in the Fucking BUSINESS of blandness.
Also I love Sharon Van Etten. Love her music, like her acting okay (she was pretty good in Tha OA, despite her role -- and the show -- being super hokey) Also also, I had no idea this had been in the works for so fucking long! 2009? Jesus! Trent Teznor's on it too. Really hope it doesn't suck. My god that would be depressing. |
![]() New Twin Peaks Trailer Shows Off Some of the Original Characters 25 Years Later Twin Peaks Revival Comes to Showtime May 21 Well, it's not a revival, motherfuckers, it's the... promised conclusion. If there can be such a thing. Oh man, just a bit over two weeks before it's on. Oh MAN. The Leftovers' final season will do nicely until then, though... |
|
So surely some of you must have watched the new episodes?
Thoughts? Predictions? |

I couldn't find anyone with showtime with whom to watch it - I guess I'm waiting for the DVDs unless there is some clever way to see it on youtube. |
^^
Same. I still haven't seen a minute of American Gods either. This has been the case for a lot of Twin Peaks fans I know. "Oh my god, Twin Peaks is back!" Did you watch it? "Oh, I don't have Showtime because I'm a normal person." Why the fuck go to a premium channel with something like this? Jesus. You really think all the people who don't have cable (or, like, TVs?) like me are going to give in and start spending the (not sure how many) dollars a month for Showtime? And STARZ? Fuck. I'm not doing that shit. I want to watch it but I'm not doing that shit. A friend of mine from work was really pumped about it and does happen to have Showtime. He said it was really fucking weird, even for Twin Peaks. Virtually impossible to know what's happening. Several plot lines going on at once. So, that's all I know. |

I haven't begun watching this "third season" yet (and don't you fuckers spoil it for me ;)), but I can report that a LOT of it was unloaded on Sunday. Apparently, in the U.S. of A., "Twin Peaks premiered on Showtime on May 21, 2017, with a two-hour episode. After the airing, the premiere and an additional two episodes became available online, and the series will be shown in weekly increments from that point onwards (at Lynch's insistence). Overall, the series will consist of 18 episodes. It will conclude on September 3, 2017, with a two-part finale." YOW!

My friend at work is going to have me over for a couple of Twin speaks fester. I plan to re-watch Fire Walk With Me in preparation. :)
Also... I hear this new... incarnation... of TP is a stark contrast to the wonderfully absurd original series, which as y'all know sprinkled its extreme darkness with extreme campiness. From what I can gather, this is just, like, SUPER fucking dark. More akin to Lynch's films. Horror, straight up. Which is exciting AF. |

Yeah, you've really gotta rewatch FWWM he's not pandering to any newbies on this. It's so dark in places. Seriously, the guy does better horror with a lot less than 99% of the horror films around these days. I#ve got a couple of gripes with the series but on the whole I'm loving it. GET WATCHING IT GUYS! Wanna see what you all think. |

No Showtime here either. But I mean NO Showtime, as in there's no such a thing as a "Showtime channel" where I live. Plenty of their programs, however, have found their way into other channels: The L Word was on Warner, Dexter on FX and Brotherhood... somewhere else; I can't remember at the moment (boy was that a great show, though). Having said that, Twin Peaks: The Return is nowhere to be found so :fuckyou: Showtime, you force me to dive into the unofficial channels... |

I'm so pissed that I can't get American Gods. I even have an HBO GO account that I get because I split Dish Network payments with my girlfriend's mom. But for some reason I can't access STARZ or Showtime. I've seriously been waiting for an American Gods adaptation since I was... well, basically an entirely different person. A cool young guy with minimal cantakerousness and zero apocalyptic pessimism. An HERE IT IS, just out of my cocksucking reach!!!! Blast it! Blast YOU Nail Gaiman! Blast you, premium TV that isn't HBO!!! Fucking fuck! Just put your shit on HBO like a normal Fucking asshole!!! Nobody watches those other ones! I didn't even know STARZ still existed until I read that my most anticipated literary adaptation was going to be on it. God blast it in the ass. |
