Really? I see them namedropped all the time in here...impressive considering how rarely I'm on. I mean, I didn't even know about this.

Ooh. That's a good one. I'm happy to see some VU in there.

viewtiful_alan 08.04.2008 10:04 PM

Haha only two of mine were here.

A very interesting Top 20. Well done everyone for voting, and big thanks to demonrail for doing this in the first place.

My attempt to rig to vote by stuffing loads of "Whitehouse albums" votes was foiled at the last moment by our resident polling overseer, Mr Glice. Damn.

None of mine made it. :7(

Still, can't argue with that list! I'm actually really surprised Space Ritual is on there.

Cantankerous 08.05.2008 12:28 AM

three of mine made it

MellySingsDoom 08.05.2008 12:47 AM

Cantanky - were your three "Space Ritual", "Dark Side Of The Moon" and "Loveless"?

Cantankerous 08.05.2008 12:47 AM

yes

Cantankerous 08.05.2008 12:48 AM

actually no

only two of mine made it

i put in "isn't anything" not "loveless"

MellySingsDoom 08.05.2008 12:50 AM

Cool. Can you guess which ones of mine made it in?

Cantankerous 08.05.2008 12:55 AM

ehm

funhouse

the banana album

white light/white heat

????

MellySingsDoom 08.05.2008 01:00 AM

Just the one for me - The Birthday Party's "Junkyard". The rest of my choices I don't think would have scored highly at all.

I'm not much of an MBV fan, but I've never understood why Loveless is "better" than Isn't Anything.

Norma J 08.05.2008 02:59 AM

I didn't vote. But one thing that is for sure, is that Loveless would not have made my list, at all.

I think it's also because when you start to move past the "hub" bands, there's too much diversity to get many votes per band. Even if everyone picked a few obscure bands, it's less likely that any two people picked the same ones.

Yeah, acousticrock, you're nuts. Search "slint" -- definitely in the top 10 most mentioned bands on here.

atsonicpark 08.05.2008 03:07 AM

Also, Loveless... how can such a flawed album be so close to the top?
