that is what all my hispanic friends say about Shakira, that her voice is just ot suited for english. it sounds nasal in english, while in spanish it sounds breathy and seductive. I hate it either way

then they became more focused on the rock and became more of a hard rock alternative type act, with mothers milk and blood sugar sex magick, which were still very good

then they became straight up classic rockin, with their ballads, and a new sound wholly devoid of funk.

Ah, yeah, I knew some guys in London who played me the Spanish stuff, loads better. Although I quite like the odd Shakira tune in English.

Jamiroquai's first two records are surprisingly not shit. You wouldn't believe it from the later stuff.

i'm very open to ugly voices, i like tons of bands that have singers that just sing just plain bad. but shakira and björk are where i draw the line.

they are unfucking listenable, there's a couple of songs in spanish that are ok (like "ojos así") but mostly no. i've hated her ever since she was a colombian alanis clone.
