So I downloaded it and burned it to a cd. I had the cd lying around for a couple of days but I couldn't resist anymore. I played it on my way to school and shit does it rock. It's great.

the only album worse than the joe satriani...i mean j mascis soloing with uninspired chord changes album that's been passed on as the new dinosaur jr album is the new stooges album, that one is abyssmal.
hand it over was way better and it didn't need to have lou or murph, i expected a lot more from this album. |
From what I've listened to, it's not amazing but I like it better then all the other post Bug albums I heard

Lou DOES sing those songs 2 he wrote and if you didn't realise before he sang on 5 songs from the first album and Lose and Poledo from YLAOM so it's not some big deal. Anyway I kind of enjoyed the album up till about halfway then it got really boring. Back to your Heart is probably the only song I would want to listen to again. I think J's got a forumula or something which he used with the fog and I hear it here too, it's just boring. I hope it grows but I can't actually be arsed to listen to it. I'm still gonna try and make as many shows as I can when they tour just to hear raisans, kracked etc. |

Saw them once live, they're FUCKING loud. |
Yeah, I want to know about J's marshall stacks in daydream nation.
I saw dino last year down at manchester academy, 'thumb' blew me away, really good venue. Dead Meadow opened for them, they were awesome too. They have the vastiest sound I've ever heard, surprisingly not many people came round to listen to them, perhaps they didn't know they were playing and came later just to listen to dino. |

I guess I need to listen to post-Bug stuff. I've only heard the first 3. I picked up Where You Been a while ago and I just can't get into it. In fact, and I hate to say this, I think it sucks. After that I just didn't bother with any post bug stuff. I guess I should check out some J solo stuff too. But I still think the new album rocks.

Teenage Riot is a fantasy about what if J Mascis was running for president of the USA? that is what Thurston has said Everybodys talking bout the stormy weather And whats a man do to but work out whether its true? Looking for a man with a focus and a temper Who can open up a map and see between one and two Time to get it Before you let it Get to you Here he comes now Stick to your guns And let him through Everybodys coming from the winter vacation Taking in the sun in a exaltation to you You come running in on platform shoes With marshall stacks To at least just give us a clue Ah, here it comes I know its someone I knew Teenage riot in a public station Gonna fight and tear it up in a hypernation for you Now I see it I think Ill leave it out of the way Now I come near you And its not clear why you fade away Looking for a ride to your secret location Where the kids are setting up a free-speed nation, for you Got a foghorn and a drum and a hammer thats rockin And a cord and a pedal and a lock, thatll do me for now It better work out I hope it works out my way cause its getting kind of quiet in my citys head Takes a teen age riot to get me out of bed right now You better look it Were gonna shake it Up to him He acts the hero We paint a zero On his hand We know its down We know its bound too loose Everybodys sound is round it Everybody wants to be proud to choose So whos to take the blame for the stormy weather Youre never gonna stop all the teenage leather and booze Its time to go round A one man showdown Teach us how to fail Were off the streets now And back on the road On the riot trail |
i'm loving this album. i'll definitely buy it. best songs IMHO:
