I was actually trying to set up a show this summer in Toronto but getting across the border/buying passports/we need work permits to play in bars there or anywhere that sells food or beer...so it might be more like the fall time, we need to save up money! Would be a blast though!
we're dead broke after going to austin for south by southwest |
What! That's a shame...

Actually, as before stated despite the KG similarities, you're stuff is actually pretty cool and, yes, I'll admit, sexy. Spooky, too. (Of which I must say: Why can't I have sinister charisma and sex appeal?!) |
My friends spoken word/prank call/musical project
last night we did a drunken sing along called "ahhhhh" improv live with me on acoustic and vocals, him on vocals, and his roomate on french horn haha http://www.myspace.com/mattalvis you should listen to his other stuff tho, broker than this and body rots to the beat is the shit. he just takes samples on youtube and instrumentals and plays a few at once, 50 cent mixed with israli music, etc. pretty cool stuff in my opinion |

haha thanks man! The recording of the new album has been a bitch because I purposely write songs that are too complex to play. Haha. I'll def. send you the new album when it's finished, though. A tour in Europe? Haha. If there was enough demand, sure. Right now, the band is just me with a detuned guitar and a trumpet, with a laptop for the drum beats and some of the electronic samples. I play every single instrument again, something I haven't done for a few albums, and it feels nice. The band at one point had 30 (!) members, and we played a few shows like that, which were just insane and ridiculous, 3 drummers, tons of bassists, tons of guitarists, just make this huge sound. No clips of that stuff, have a "Soundboard" recording of one of the shows there. There's a clip of one of the shows with the 18 members here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nflox-rM9mI as you could expect, it's an unholy noise mess. It feels nice to be by myself again, and I think one day I might even take this band more seriously and tour a bit more. Robe. also is just me and Kyle again, after having collaborated with tons of people over the years. It's good to simplify. Thanks again for the support! |
You should come through Cincinnati sometime and do a show at the Bunk Spot Adam, they'd dig it. Or art damage lodge. Or the Mockbee.
Look into it. |
yeah, probably should, it's actually really close, we're going to do a robe. tour soon ish, i'll try to get ahold of them, we was thinking of just indiana, michigan, ohio, and illinois.
new song at www.myspace.com/scissorshock |
Just let me know ifyou need a show in Cincinnati. I'll get it. I'm good friends with the bunk spot who run out of this place called the MOckbee. They've had all kinds of bands come through, Art Damage is a bit more selective. Bunk is new and fresh and (usually) will take anyone at this point, kind of a place. ya know? Only the out of town bands get the money too.

check out my songs and art on my blog. posted a cover of sy's what a waste sans vocals

This thread kinda sucks for this sort of thing, it's almost like a list of things that noone checks out....anyway
We have a new song "Midwest Coast" www.myspace.com/rememberthatband |
lemme add to the shit no one reads, we got our cd reviewed by performer magazine. they titled our music "Embracive, and charming, hypnotic rock".
Mama Lion- Gamble, Gamble, Die. EP For their first EP, this three-piece indie
(self-released) XBilly SeidelX www.myspace.com/mamalionmusicrock group has created a four-song album that has a respectable mix of styles. From mellow acoustic grooves that build with fuzzed-out rock, to upbeat rhythms accompanied with feverish guitars twanging away, each one of the tracks seems to have A and B parts to it, with a surprise change in mood at the end. The songs will run along, picking up new parts and adding them on as it steam rolls to its finish. The vocals, provided by Hannah Frances Healy, are graceful and fit accordingly to the progression of the songs. In the opening track, “F and M Retreat,” the sound of her voice seems to be coming from the other side of a long distance call – or if Karen O had called from Hubble Telescope. “My Back Hurts Caveman” contains a smoothing mix of post-rock vibes and vocals that swoon over the arpeggiated chords. Most of the lyrical content is softly poetic without being too overbearing. Lines such as “Four leaf clover strapped to black cat” and “No questions left for the blissful dead” set the tone and imagery to the songs. The other members of the band produce great harmonies and share lyrics in a back-and-forth manner. |

Thanks! It was kind of unprepared (didnt learn the bridge) and I didnt have anything besides an overdrive and big muff pedal so its a bit tame...but I still think it was a fun thing to close our set with at a punk fest.
The guy who shot it did a great job, I dont know him too well but apparently we went to highschool together. Weird how that works |
|
Nice deadair!!!
Hey guys and girls, could I get your opinion on some promo shots? Which one out of these 3 or 4 do you think would be the best shot for the papers/etc. for an upcoming music festival we're playing... or or or Any honest opinions would be extremely helpful! Most of you know what we sound like now..if that helps visually |
