:D :D :D life's hard, ey?

Anyway, I'd love to help however my current read is football related so I can't say it's up your street. It's dark and engaging but not exactly the weirdest book in the case.

What is it? (OK, scratch that ... I thought you were talking about a 'dark and engaging' book about football)

Rob Instigator 07.03.2019 08:55 AM

I am also reading Claw of the Conciliator - Gene Wolfe (1981)

YES

I’ll want updates.

Power through the remaining books like one book. It’s best that way.

h8kurdt 07.05.2019 05:00 AM

Blitzed through this book in the space of a couple of days. I can get why James o'Brien could rub people the wrong way. However, I don't think you can fault his logic. It's too easy to let people with opinions that are not opinions but absolute bollocks viewpoints lacking in any logic and letting them off saying "well I guess that's your views" when they're not. It's crap spouted but the newspaper rags and they repeat happily without thinking what's been said.

that sounds interesting and very useful these days

does it offer tools?

h8kurdt 07.05.2019 11:44 AM

Don't know about tools per se. The guy is a talk show radio host who has a pretty good record of getting through to people's bullshit. That might not sound like much but how many times do you see an interview and you're waiting for the follow up question to the one the interviewee just avoided.

Anyway, the book is him writing about dealing with callers he talks to every day on different subjects from Brexit, to the favourite buzzword of morons "politically correct" and so on. I'm really enjoying it any road.

here's one he did with Rees-Mogg
