Back when IT Chapter 1 was headed to theaters I wanted to revisit "IT" the novel, so I listened to the audiobook, but not the recent one that's read by Steven Webber, I listened to the original, which I found online to listen to.

I finished BIG RED, a debut science fiction novel from a Dubliner, Damien Larkin. The publisher, dancing Lemur Press, sent me a review copy. The novel comes out tomorrow. https://rxttbooks.blogspot.com/2019/...e-fiction.html

Re-Reading James Ellroy's Black Dahlia

I don't know if I've ever read anyone who goes darker than Ellroy, in any genre.

The darkest shit I ever read is Andrew Vacchs hard-boiled and brutal short stories.

Good call. Vachss is definitely brutal. He's a bit too preachy for me but no question he gets dark.

Did I mention I’m reading that “Blood and Fire” history of Westeros (Game of Thrones land)?

Well. I am.

It’s OK as methadone while I wait for Winds of Winter, but I wouldn’t recommend it to just anyone.

I read "Idiot" Fedor Dostoevsky recently. Very good book.

reading this because people have been hyping it so much....so I decided to read it. I am halfway trough now and I am kind of annoyed with it. It has loads of references to lots of bands like Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Bikini Kill, etc., to hip books, movies.... But the references just seem like name dropping. It annoys me so much, because they really don't give anything to the story. I feel like the author will just seem very cool for knowing all of these bands. Can't wait to be done with this book.
