Same here. It's interesting that neither Real or Barcelona have real name managers right now. I'm not even sure La Liga has the monopoly on the top players anymore, at least in terms of up and coming ones - given the likes of Messi, Suarez, Modric, etc are now all in their 30s.

The only game I can see being of any interest to the neutral is the much improved, post Wenger Arsenal v Liverpool (Sat 17.30 GMT)

I'll obviously be cheering on Bournemouth against Man U (Sat 12.30 GMT) and keeping my fingers crossed for West Ham against Burnley (Sat 15.00 GMT) but nothing much else to right home about this weekend.

Can't help but despair about the direction football is going on. Never has the quality of football been higher, but also never has it been more corrupt.

A European Super-League is pretty much an inevitability at this point. There's just too much money in it for the owners of these elite clubs to resist it forever. The TV revenue alone would be astronomical. It'll relegate the CL to the level of of the Europa cup and the Prem will effectively return to the old 1st Division model (which I'm not averse to). But I'm not sure how viable even that'll be if traditionally big legacy clubs like Liverpool and Man Utd leave it. And leagues that REALLY rely on its big clubs, like La Liga and the Bundesliga, will be absolutely fucked.

The Prem is probably the least affected cos it has about 5-6 teams with a global following and not all of them will be in this Super-League. It's still bad news though.

Some yank has shown the most profitable clubs how they can maximise income by leaving their domestic leagues and creating a super league, probably fucking over UEFA, the CL and every other club in the process. They arranged this in secret while manipulating UEFA and misleading other clubs.

The whole thing about how it'd be big games every week is just daft too. The great thing about watching the big games is cos they don't happen every week. There's such a thing as too muc of a good thing. The champions league games come once every few weeks and the excitement we all get when it's back again is great.
