Nice stuff, sounds a bit like a mix between (duh) Nils Frahm and Oiseaux-Tempete
it's much better than what I recall from his latest albums, and live perfrmances

I enjoyed his first LP on Captured tracks with it's whimsical-lo-fi charm but after that he became more Techno and Industrial influenced with some of the cringiest lyrics you could possibly imagine. Too much coke, should have stuck with beer, because like I always say: a beer for a day keeps the industrial-techno-fucks away

He did a post on his blog a few years ago about how he embraced Brexit. To be honest I wasn't offended by it, it just made made me think more about how sometimes some musicians I admire are also hopeless idiots when it comes to politics. A few years ago I read an interview with Jennifer Herrema where she seemed sympathetic with the invasion of Iraq by Bush. Did not stop me loving Royal Trux, but certainly I realised one of their members came across as the American blueprint for your average Trump voter. See also Maureen Tucker of the Velvet Underground. Made music history with the band. Put out some good records. Now the sort of working class idiot who genuinely thinks their (probably short) life is going to get a boost for her family by voting again for the same guy. Nobody taught the woman about class consciousness, obviously.

Bower did more than post about Brexit, from what I remember he had gone down the occult pagan aryan road and when he was outed a couple of musicians he had been associated with previously sadly verified the claims. The music of his I liked before I still like now but you I'm not going to buy any new releases.
Apparently Mo Tucker being a tea partier has been debunked (I don't care if she is or isn't). I don't care if Jennifer Herrema implied support for invading Iraq (it's lame but irrelevant and anyway its post Royal Trux). Johnny Ramone, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, etc etc. If people support the wrong team in politics it's an error in judgement (or whatever) and I'll still buy their records and/or see shows, but being a white supremacist is just really gross.

I remember reading the article in The Quietus about it; definitely more to the story than Brexit. And definitely disappointing.
I like a lot of music by people with extremely sketchy views (IIIrd Gatekeeper is a huge favorite of mine and made a giant impression at the time), but everything is just too real now and my edgelord days are behind me.
I’m sure way more people than any of us realize have objectionable views; One thing that is nice about certain subcultures is that they put it right out there for you and you can make your decisions on the front end a lot of the time.
